Colour refers to a type of liquid or semi-liquid mixture of pigments that is applied as a thin layer on a surface, which then dries to form a permanent hard colored coating on that surface. Paints are usually made by suspending or binding a liquid pigment found in nature to a liquid substance or carrier (called a colour medium). Oil, water, glue, etc. can be used as a colour medium. This paint is then applied on a flat surface with a brush. The dye can be diluted with water or any other solvent or lubricant. Paint is used in the painting process or to protect a surface from the weather.
