The word metaphor means transference of meaning. A metaphor is a comparison Between two different things. As metaphor is a comparison but there is no such words as like as, such, as etc. So, it is a compressed from simile. If the words like as, such, like etc are used in comparison between two different things, it is simile, and if such words as like, such, as etc are not used it is metaphor. There are two types of metaphor "tenor" and " vehicle"
The tenor refers to the subject of the metaphor, and the vehicle to the object.

Metaphoris a figure of speech in which an indirect comparison is made Between two different things. Here the lungi is indirectly compared to a fig-leaf.
