You don't have to give me a second chance, give yourself one!

In my last article I wrote that was titled "learn to open back up again" I did tell you that the reason why we have to learn to open back up again our hearts to feel and experience new opportunities when we lose those important people and things we hold so dear to our heart, is for us to give ourselves another second chance to live again and be happy after.

You can't do all of these and help yourself to live again if you still hold back yourself from giving yourself a second chance. To some people in our lives, they find it so hard and very difficult to let go of wrong doings, hurt, and any other type of ill-treatment that were done to them by friends, families, loved ones or even from people they met on their way. I will tell you a story that happened around my area, a friend of mine who was in a relationship that was so beautiful and very jealous by all due to the way they were loving each other and displaying their love lives around the area where we all resided.

My friend was making plans to travel out of the country after he finalised his marriage rites with his girlfriend, he went to the family of the lady he was about to marry to make his intentions known to them about his marriage plans with their daughter, they gave him all the necessary information and assistance he needed to complete the marriage rites, after some weeks later, he came and fulfilled all the marriage rites and they two did their marriage ceremony.

After two months of their marriage, the husband's visa was ready and out while the wife's traveling documents were delayed due to some logistics problems, as the husband was packing and arranging for him to leave, the wife was not happy because she was already missing him.

Now something so surprising and weird happened, prior to their wedding, the wife met her long lost ex-boyfriend who disappeared without any information at the mall where she went to get some items, there they two met each other and were surprised and overwhelmed because they two were so close with each other and all of a sudden, the boyfriend disappeared without giving her any reason whatsoever, so as they saw each other at the mall, they exchanged contact and started communicating without the notice of the husband.

As she escorted her husband to the airport, and the husband boarded the airplane and left, at the airport terminal was the ex-boyfriend who was coming in from a meeting he went to another city, they two met and the lady gave him a lift to her own house for the first time. They stayed and discussed for some hours, she made some food they two ate and before you knew what was happening, they two lose guarded and made love that day, later in the evening the ex-boyfriend left her house to his own apartment. After what happened the wife felt bad and concealed the whole thing to herself.

When the husband got to Germany, he had some issues at the German embassy with the German authority because his travelling documents were fake and he didn't know about it until when he reached to German embassy and was arrested, he was held for days in their custody.

The next day his wife waited for his call to know if his journey was successful, but no call came in, no way to reach the husband on phone or even through messages. Days passed she didn't hear from the husband, she ran to the ex-boyfriend and they started having secret affair.

One fateful day when she was with her ex-boyfriend in her husband's house at their matrimonial bed, the husband who was later deported from Germany detention returned back to the house without informing her and caught her with the ex-boyfriend on their bed making love, he was devastated and heartbroken, he threw the wife out of the house and divorced the wife. The wife went back to the ex-boyfriend's place to discover that the ex-boyfriend was already married to another woman with two kids.

My friend was shattered emotionally, physically and mentally and could not find a way to forgive or even look at any woman again due to his last experience. The ex-wife came begging him and he refused, he swore never to have anything to do with her again. Months and years went by, my friend stayed alone and never had anything to do with any woman. Then one day we went out to have some drink and eventually bumped into his ex-wife at the bar, my friend became so angry and so bittered at the sight of the lady, he was not able to forgive and forget what happened long time ago, as he was about living the place, the ex-wife said to him, "please listen to me, I know I wronged you and hurt you so badly that you don't want to ever set your eyes on me again, I am so sorry for my actions and I pray that you find a place in your heart to forgive and forget all my wrong doings to you. But of a sincere truth, I am not asking you to bring me back in your life again, I am not asking you for a second chance, please you don't have to give me a second chance, give yourself one. I wish you happiness and I want you to live again".

You don't need to hold back yourself because you were hurt so badly by someone you believed in and trusted so much, you have to find a place in your heart to let go of past hurt and give yourself a reason to live again, a second chance will surely make it right for you again.

Let's start today to build our emotions and feelings to the level where we can always let things slide.
