When you learn, teach. When you get, give.

I believe today all round the world has been marked as a day for valentine's day, a day set aside for celebration of  love and show of care and concern to that person right beside you. And everybody right now have been trying to reach to their loved ones and families to show them some love, gift items, and also hangout with their friends and loved ones just to have fun and enjoy themselves today.

Do you know that most people have misunderstood the true message of today and have chosen to celebrate valentine's day in the wrong way, especially the younger ones in this our present time and season. They have turned valentine's day celebration as a day where they can do all sorts of immoralities, making it a day when they will go out with their loved ones to clubs, have excessive drinking of alcohol, having illicit sex with their boyfriends and girlfriends, love partners and other immoral acts that does not paint the right meaning why the valentine's day is been celebrated today.

Some people will use today as a day for breakups with their partners maybe because the things they expected their loved ones to do for them in this season of love were not done by their partners and because of that, they feel disappointed and break up their relationship. While some other persons will leave their partners to follow another person that throw expensive gifts, money and material things at them and because of that, they will leave their relationship to follow another.

While some will travel long distance to meet people they have never met before in life except on social media all because they were invited and promised a good time out once they come over and in so doing, they put their lives at risk and danger all because they want to have fun and enjoy valentine's day.

Are these what truly valentine's day mean to us? Or are we going about this valentine's day celebration in the wrong direction?

Coming from the title of my article today which captioned "When you learn, teach. When you get, give", you will understand with me that we have failed to learn the true meaning and essence of celebrating valentine's day on every 14th February each year, we have turned our minds and our hearts away from what we should learn from the person that we celebrate in his name. St. Valentine we celebrate today is a person that gave his life all in a bit to protect love and encourage true love during his time on earth. He died for standing on the just and goodness. but we have failed to actually understand the true message he passed to us and why he is been celebrated today.

We have also failed to teach our children and wards to follow the right teachings and the right message of st. valentine's day which is sacrifice, love, care and show of concern to those who we are better off. This is what love is all about and we must begin to give the right teaching to our children.

This is the period of giving and sharing love with  people around you. Sharing of gift, sharing well wishing messages, paying visit to the less privileged and to the homeless, spending more time with the aged ones around your local areas, should be the best message for this valentine's day we celebrate today.

This is a day of arms giving from the dept of your heart, a day for togetherness, a day for reconciliation, a day for forgiveness and a day for true expression of love.

Let us today celebrate our valentine's day in the spirit of love, sportsmanship and togetherness, because it's in this period of time you learn and teach, you get and give.
