What can you teach your kids tomorrow?

Our world is gradually becoming a place where so much evil and bad influences are becoming the order of the day. Good old days are slowing fading away from our memories because of the current happenings in our world today.

Have you thought about what will become the fate of our future generations?

Have you asked yourself what values and norms are we leaving behind for the younger generation that are coming up?

Have you really asked your consciences this important question, what can I teach my kids tomorrow?

The world we live in today has been filled with so much negative events and horrible experiences which has made almost everyone if not all of us think and believe that everything that is happening whether good or bad around us today is normal and okay, no need of rejecting or commenting any word about it. We have come to accept everything as normal, nothing seem to be bad or evil any more.

Young men and women who had the opportunity to experience little about good old days from their aged parents and are supposed to inculcate the life experiences into our present and future generations, are today living a different lifestyle, fixing their minds, thoughts and energies on a different path that can not help educate the younger generation coming behind them.

From the country where I come from, The quest for wealth, power, riches and affluence have taken the center stage in the minds of our youths, only but few are after going for scholarships, educational achievements and professional qualifications and attainments, etc

The energy and morale for greater heights and pursuance of good morals and norms in the lives of our youths have gradually becoming dead like the dried tree where it's leaves are drying off and fading away. Nobody seem to care anymore, so long as it's going to bring us fame, money, wealth at the end it's fine with us. The moral justification of our action is not important anymore.

Our educational system is now the shadow of itself, looking at the type of graduates we have in recent times, the quality of education in terms of lectures and lecturers that teach us in our various universities, polytechnics and colleges, and the relationship between the school authorities and the government these days, you will understand that there is nothing to show to the younger generation coming up, a situation where strike by the school authorities have become the norm in our tertiary institutions due to disagreements and none compliance to discussions and demands by the both parties (government and school authorities), schools been closed and students sent back to their homes until further notice. At the end of it all, the school curriculum is been tampered and disorganised. All these affect the students and the younger generation coming up.

The government of the day is also contributing to this problem, a situation where the government will not provide all the necessary promises of good governance they made to their electorates during election campaign when they eventually win the election, instead of creating jobs, providing social amenities and making life easy for the citizens they govern, they channel all the resources to themselves, embezzling public funds, acquiring properties for themselves and travelling abroad to lavish the common man's money (tax payer's money) without remorse or fear.

Some parents on the other hand have also failed in their own responsibilities to stay alive and active in the lives of their children. Due to so much commitments and responsibilities in the shoulder of the parents, maybe at their work places or at their businesses, they leave the responsibilities of taking care of their children in the hands of nannies and housemaids to take care of their children for them while they go out in pursuit of wealth. These nannies and housemaids they left their children in their care may take the advantage of that to rough handle the children in their care. And when these children grow with such training, definitely you already know what the result will be like.

What can you teach your kids tomorrow should be what comes through your mind each time you are alone, the way to a better world starts with you and what you teach your kids today. You can not have a better tomorrow if you keep away this important question from your mind, we should always find a way to give our children  reasons to be wonderful people tomorrow. Teach them the right way of living for a better tomorrow.
