You have been giving me so much pressure to step up my games and make sure I finish these business deals we have with Mytech communications, Paul & Peter investments, Ojezz foundations, Franklin automobiles, Rafdesigns fashion designs and four other companies on my desk in just 12hrs sir. Please Sir, can you give me that opportunity and free hands to handle these deals?, also can we take it easy so we don't make mistakes and end up losing these deals with these companies because of rush?. Mr Ben the head operations manager pleaded with his boss Mr. Thomas the CEO and managing director of the company where he was working, but Mr. Thomas insisted and commanded him to make sure he finishes all the business deals as he instructed him within 12hrs or he considers his job with the his company terminated.
Because of the pressure on Mr. Ben the operations manager to seal up the deals on his desk, he ended up making mistakes with some of the business deals and lost huge amount of money for the company. When Mr. Thomas heard what happened, he got so annoyed and summoned Mr. Ben to his office to explain what happened why they had to lose such important business deals, when Mr. Ben came into the office, he kept mute and couldn't respond to the questions the boss was asking him, and because of what happened the Boss immediately gave him a termination letter stopping him from working with the company.
Mr. Ben out of anger replied to his boss and said, Sir, you have been in this company as the owner and running it for some years now and you have refused to allow your employees to make their suggestions and contributions to the best of their knowledges in order to add in the growth of this company, he continued to say that if you had listened to him when he pleaded with you to give him some time to handle these deals than rushing them, these losses and misfortunes would not have emerged, but out of your stubbornness and not giving a favourable playground for your staff to put in their own ideas and knowledges you have finally lost these great deals that would have fetched the company enough profits.
With due respect sir, why not step in my shoes for just a moment so you can handle these pressures coming on my desk and maybe let another person mount pressures the way you did earlier today sir and see if you will not make same mistake that I made today. After he finished replying his boss he hurriedly cleared his desk of his belongings and left the company premises in anger.
The managing director after given a second thought about what Mr. Ben said to him, decided to handle the office of the operations manager together with his own position being the CEO and managing director of his company. Business deals started coming in from left and right and it was now in his position to strike deals with these potential companies seeking for business transactions with his company, he was now faced with so much pressure at the office because he needed to meet up with these companies business proposal and requirements in order not to lose the deals with these companies.
Finally after so much pressures he could not meet up with all the requirements and needed documents for the deals to pull through, he ended up losing much more business deals than Mr Ben did when he was working with his company.
After the bad experience he had since he took up the position of Mr. Ben and being in his shoes as the operations manager, he had to call Mr. Ben back to work and apologized to him for everything and how he treated him, he then increased his monthly allowance and salary, also he said to him that he will allow him to proffer ideas and solutions which will bring positive change to the company. He now gave Mr. Ben a free hand to work for the betterment of the company.
From this story, this is what most people have been passing through in their various places of work, offices, homes and even within the circle of friends and families around the world. The ability to understand that it's important to give everybody that enabling environment to bring out their own very best and ideas in any area of life one finds him or herself is the best approach to a healthy and success society.
Do not always feel that you know everything and the ideas of the next person sitting beside you is not important. We all are important.
Always learn to give people that freedom to express themselves because when you do that, you may be giving that person the opportunity to bring out the best in him or her.
Delegation of duties and allowing people to handle their own work without interference is also a key to a successful output. You may come in when you know the person have tried all the possible best and failed then you can step in if you have a better ideas and solutions to the problem.
Finally, let's give each other that benefit of doubt to always trust that we will do our best when given the opportunity to.

Situations like these happen every day not only in companies but also in our personal lives, judging others by their behavior without stopping to think about the reasons that have led them to act in one way or another is a matter for reflection. We must put ourselves in the shoes of others to understand their reality.
