I cry for my country Nigeria!

I don't know how to say this, my heart is bleeding in pain, confusion and sadness and up till now I am yet to find the rational behind this new trend of modus operandi in our justice system and government administration in Nigeria.

Of a truth I don't know whether to run away or teleport myself to another country where one will not have to be hearing and seeing injustice been allowed to control the justice system. The rate at which the Nigerian state is heading to failure in their justice system and government administration are really getting out of hand and if care is not taken, we will have a situation where we can't control criminality and  terrorism anymore.

I was fortunate enough to on my radio this morning 11th August, 2021 at about 7:00am and listened to today's news been read out in one of the radio stations in Nigeria and I heard where a magistrate court in Lagos Island sentencing a 20year old man Gafar Akindele, to spend two years at Juvenile remand boys home at Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State, for stealing 11 dozens of plastic chairs. And at the same time I heard on the same news that at least 1,000 Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) members have laid down their arms and surrendered to its troops, and they are apologizing to Nigerian government and Nigerians to forgive them of their actions, when I heard the news I was confused and didn't believe it so I went to internet to confirm the news and there I saw some pictures of where cloths and food items were been given to these said repented terrorists.

After hearing the news I was lost in thought, I was wondering why these should be happening in my country, does it mean our justice system has collapsed to the point of no return, where some group of persons will kill and destroy lives and properties and instead of giving them the right justice for their actions, for taking laws in their hands, for killing and destroying lives and properties, for bringing terror to human existence and to the sovereign state of Nigeria, rather the government of the day is throwing their eyes away and giving them food, cloths while sentencing another person that didn't kill or take away life to years in correctional center. What an irony! Source

What is the present government of the day trying to teach it's citizens? I have said it time without number that the method at which the present administration handle the justice system and run the affairs of this country Nigeria will one day put everybody on the run, if someone that could take life which he or she didn't give, destroy lives and properties can be treated this way after his ill action to the country, what will be the fate of the soldiers and security agents that were killed by this same terrorists that have come out to surrender?, what about the family members of the people they killed their sons and daughters without human feelings what will be their fate? What do you think will be going through their minds after hearing this news and seeing some of this pictures online?

I am yet to understand the rational for taking this decision in that direction. With the way this is going, I tell you this that the moral of the soldiers fighting this insurgents are dropping by the day. There is no justification to this action taken by this government, the same people that the Nigerian soldiers are been killed for in their hundreds in different forests and villages are the same people you are welcoming and giving cloths and food and reintegrating them to the society just because they surrendered, even at this moment the fight is still on and soldiers are been killed and slaughtered by other members of these set that are yet to surrender.

Before Niger Delta militants in the south-south, south-west region were given amnesty by the federal government, the militants were only fighting for a known course which were for proper percentage settlement to the host Community of every oil explored in their communities, for provision of social amenities to the region and for provision of jobs for the youths in states where this oil explorations are been done, they were not after the lives of the their citizens, they were not killing and destroying lives and chasing people from their communities, towns and villages and taking control of the states they were in, they only kidnapped top government officials, foreign expertise and oil workers, steal vessels that carry crude and destroyed oil pipelines and facilities and making it difficult for the oil companies to function and work.

But in the case of the Boko haram, their ideology and activities are different in its entirety, they kill and bomb innocent citizens, they destroy churches, schools and mosques, they take hold and control of territories of some states in the country and restore their flag as their own sovereign states and their true demands and reason are yet to be known by all, yet they are been treated in this manner in a country where justice and equity is said to be in existence.

If government of the day is really going in this direction in tackling the current security situations of the country Nigeria, they will end up causing more harm than good if they don't check it now.

There should be a working system in this country, justice for all no matter your status, level and case. Sentencing a man for stealing just 11 dozens of plastic chairs while you pardon and leave some set of men that have killed and destroyed lives and properties in thousands without any reason is not an ideal. This country is in our hands to make it work better but if we can't achieve that, it's better we go our separate ways.

This is my opinion and thought.

It's obvious the government of the day is making a very big mistake by allowing such to happen in a country where majority of the citizen are affected by these group of people's evil act.
