I'm Broke

Well I am officially broke... In US Dollars.

I stuck with my original plan of attempting to match purchases I make on nightlife with purchases of Bitcoin. What I failed to realize is that there was a four night holiday weekend coming up that we would be spending in a beach town and absolutely destroying our bank accounts hitting the bars.

The good news is that I was able to match for probably over 50% of the purchases that I made (a number so high it gives me a headache thinking of it). The bad news is that it made me realize that I definitely need to slow down on spending, especially on regular weeks.

BTC On The Rise

I was able to stack some sats each night from Thursday to Sunday and that felt great when BTC made the move from 28k to over 31k and I saw that the investment was already starting to grow.

It is a bit of a disappointment that the market is still almost entirely tethered to the performance of Bitcoin, though it is understandable because of the level of dominance it has in the market. With that being said, the goal has to be stacking sats at least for the medium term. Eventually one day that dominance will head towards zero (at least I believe it is as use cases for cryptocurrency fully solidify in the financial sectors) but until that happens we just need to be aware of macro-fluctuations in the market based on our big orange friend.

What's Next

Well... For the next 2 months I think that the thought of having a drink is going to have me feeling sick, so I'll view this weekend as a convoluted investment in my future spending habits! No matter what you end up doing, as long as you are making some memories and enjoying life, that is enough in my book. Of course that can be optimized and budgeted, but we're only going to live once, remember to enjoy it while on the way to the goals you are pursuing.
