I hope you have heard the name of Terracotta Army. If you haven't then here's a brief info regarding it. The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang,the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor.

It is believed that these soldiers protect the emperor in afterlife.In the below image you can see it.

So, in this article I'll be sharing some info about Qin Shi Huang.

Qin Shi Huang was the founder of Qin dynasty and he is known as the first emperor of China.He became China's first emperor when he was 38. There were 3 assassination attempts.

I'll discuss about one in this article. While receiving presents, a person named Jing Ke was supposed to kill him. While unrolling a map(it's the gift) a dagger was revealed.The king drew back, stood on his feet, but struggled to draw the sword to defend himself.Jing Ke attempted to stab him,but missed. The dagger upon missing stuck to a pillar and later someone from the court killed Jing Ke and saved Qin Shi Huang.

What did he do as the emperor?

Well,he unified China, made economic reforms, started the road system and many more. Also started the Great wall.

He was a good emperor but he did some crazy things

Few crazy things which he did:

1) He sentenced Lao Ai (for having an affair with his mother) to death by tying four horses to his limbs and sending them running in four different directions.

2)Later in his life, He feared death and desperately wanted elixir of life, which would allow him to live forever. He even hired people to go around looking for a 1000 year old magician

3) Continuing to look for elixir of life, He ingested mercury pills.

Yep. He ingested mercury pills. Which is NOT OKAY.As it is poisonous.

How did he die?

No confirmed reason. Many believe that it was due to his act of ingesting mercury pills resulted in poisoning him. He fell ill due to this poisoning.
