Previous Secretary of State Colin Powell on Tuesday will loan another Republican voice on the side of Joe Biden in an unannounced video recorded for the Democratic National Convention as the Democrats endeavor to engage more moderate voters.
Powell, who served in President George W. Bramble's organization, is one of a few Republicans included at the Democratic show this year. Previous Ohio Gov. John Kasich and other top Republicans talked on Monday night, presenting the defense that Biden is the best possibility to prevail upon moderate Republicans.
"The qualities I picked up experiencing childhood in the South Bronx and serving in uniform were similar qualities that Joe Biden's folks ingrained in him in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The last time Powell upheld a Republican was 16 years prior, when he bolstered George W. Shrub for president in 2004. In 2000, Powell gave the keynote address at the Republican National Convention on the side of Bush.
