I was in a cab some time ago and the driver wanted to pick up a man.

The driver continued to move the cab while telling the man to hurry up and hop in.

The man who was carrying a huge load couldn't meet up with the cab.

The driver then said, "look at him, walking sluggishly like a woman".

The words infuriated me, however, I waited a few seconds and said to him "why would you say he is sluggish like a woman?" Do you mean women are sluggish sets of humans? "You are not half as smart as many women I know"

His mouth dropped open for many seconds and words refused to come out.

90% of abuse (verbal, emotional, physical), child marriage, and all forms of gender-based violence melted towards women are propagated by men (I stand to be corrected)

In as much as we bring interventions geared towards improving the livelihood of women, we must start working on more advocacy messages, education geared and targeted towards raising responsible boys who will become responsible men to reduce these incidences of inappropriateness propagated by them.

I told myself "more work needs to be done to involve men in all aspect that has to do with improving the lives of our children, our women, and the nation at large".

I am positive if we target interventions at men while we continue to raise empowered women, our families, our communities, and the nation will be safer and more prosperous.

Parents you need to realize that more than you're grooming your children, you're almost grooming someone's friend, wife, husband and we have many imbalanced marriages because boys were groomed to feel so entitled and not accountable.
