Temper Good morning my people 😍 trust we are having a great day? Some days back I came across a very powerful and meaningful write up which I found so impactful. After reading I felt like it necessary to share this with you all.❣️ Please read carefully and also share with your love ones. Thank you❣️ Control Your Temper (Anger) There once was a little boy who had a very bad temper. His father decided to hand him a bag of nails and said that every time the boy lost his temper, he had to hammer a nail into the fence. On the first day, the boy hammered 37 nails into that fence. The boy gradually began to control his temper over the next few weeks, and the number of nails he was hammering into the fence slowly decreased. He discovered it was easier to control his temper than to hammer those nails into the fence. Finally, the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father the news and the father suggested that the boy should now pull out a nail every day he kept his temper under control. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. “you have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say I’m sorry, the wound is still there.” Moral of the story: Control your anger, and don’t say things to people in the heat of the moment, that you may later regret. Some things in life, you are unable to take back. Subscribe for more inspirational content

Work lessons On Monday, my aunty will clock 14 years working at United Capital Plc. This is a place she have generated over 80% of her career experience. In the last 14 years, she have worked with seven of the most amazing executives and industry veterans, and she enjoyed working with all of them. This her sharing her experience has she look back at these years, here are her 14 lessons learned from her years with United Capital Plc 1. You don’t need to be overly qualified for a role to want it and deliver on it. 2. The biggest job of a leader is managing people. Get it right, and you will excel. 3. Criticism from colleagues isn’t always bad. It can mean you are doing something right. 4. Start thinking of the legacy you want to leave from day one. You will leave that position one day. 5. You are your biggest cheerleader. No one will do that job for you when you get to the top. 6. Visibility comes with vulnerability. Learn to manage both 7. Understand what success means to the company you work for and understand what success means to you in that position. 8. It would be best if you had allies, but they don’t have to be senior. 9. Treat people well, and they will treat you well. 10. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Life happens. 11. Leadership is about sharing, and that may include sharing information about yourself that is personal. 12. It’s not about balancing work and family. You can integrate both. The individual circumstance will determine which comes first per time. I have had to leave the office at 1 am with a seven months-old baby at home in a bid to close out on an audited account. 13. Set goals that scare you. You might achieve it. 14. I would rather be respected than liked, although it doesn’t hurt to be liked and respected😊. Which of these lessons resonates with you? Kindly share in the comment session. Subscribe for more motivational lessons

Invest in your talents Lets talk about music: 📸Throw back to when i was 11 years old and accompanying the International School orchestra at the Music Conservatoire of Tanzania in Dar es salaam. My parents were very intentional about identifying our talents and invested in them early giving us an alternative outlet to express ourselves. I have been immersed in music since I was 4 years old when I started formal piano lessons, and it continues to be an important part of my life. After completing Grade 8 ABRSM pianoforte exams with distinction, my parents encouraged me to formalize my interest in music with a Piano Teaching Diploma (ARCM) from The Royal College of Music whilst I was studying for my bachelors’ degree at the London School of Economics (LSE) This skill has been a fundamental asset. I gave piano lessons at home to supplement my income when I worked part time at the start of my banking career as I raised a young family. Nowadays, music for me is a form of leisure and therapy, and a way to provide some comfort, succour and encouragement to those who care to listen to me play. It is a huge honour to be an Honorary Assistant Organist at Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Lagos. I also cherish the opportunity to play the pipe organ at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Athens on occasion. What are your children good at? Do you take it seriously? Do you encourage them? Music? Sports? Art? Technology? Drama? Public speaking? Creative writing? Investing? Design & Technology? Identify it. Nurture it Invest in it Weekends and holidays are perfect opportunities to focus on this. Start today Enjoy the weekend! Please I need sponsors

Family or friends Family God gave each of us a special family that we can call our own. A family that loves us for who we are so we would never feel alone. They may not like everything we do or everything we say, but the beautiful thing about "#family" is that they love us anyway. Sometimes we feel rejected by people who do not care, but our hearts are warmed when remembering that our family is always there! So hug them a little more often, for sometimes we hurt the ones we love. And tell them how much you #love them, for they were sent to you from above. Here are some family quotes below “In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony.” –Friedrich Nietzsche “Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family.” –Anthony Brandt “Having somewhere to go is home. Having someone to love is family. And having both is a blessing.” “Being a family means you are a part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life.” –Lisa Weed Friends If you had never come, I'd have never learned to laugh. My sandwiches would still be whole, and never cut in half. My voice would have never changed to high, or low. You would love my favorite band, and I would never know. If you had never come, the rain would feel so cold. I would have lived alone forever, with a secret never told. My tears would have no place to go, but down my cheeks in sorrow. I'd have my own clothes, instead of yours to borrow. If you had never come, I would have never hopped a fence. Doing something wrong would have never made much sense. I never would have tasted the stars in the dead of night. But instead, you are here with me #forever, holding me tight. Lovely friendship quotes It's not that diamonds are a girl's best friend, but it's your best friends who are your diamonds. _Gina Barreca A friend is one who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden. _unknown Tell your closest friends that they play significant roles in your life with one of these heartwarming messages.

New week, new goals Let me let you in one secret, and you fall prey to this often than you realize the reason you wake up on Mondays not feeling energized for the week, or you just find yourself depressed for no reason, perhaps you feel like a failure or underachieved it's because you either don't have clear goals, or you're overly obsessed with your goals and it's weighing you down don't leave yourself to chance this new week "this week will be a great week" isn't plan, that's wishful thinking it's good to be optimistic & positive, but all that positive talk without actual actions will make you a happy poor person So here's what you can do, first have a clear goal for your week let's say you want more sales in your business this week, then break it into tasks, and give every hour an assignment that way, you can actually measure progress when you check your to-do list and see that you've done 2/5 or even 5/5 of your tasks for the day Don't focus on the Goal, instead focus on the tasks that you need to do daily to reach your goal analysis paralysis happens when you overthink a goal until you don't even know where to start from the idea is to set goals so that you'll have a destination in mind, something that challenges you to keep moving but then focus on the journey, and how to make the most of the journey, not the destination So right now sit down, take a piece of paper & write down what you'll like to achieve this week find out what it takes to achieve it and break them down into daily tasks, and when you complete any of the tasks, tick it good or stroke it out on your list doing this will give you a sense of fulfilment as you see each task you were able to achieve and it will ultimately increase your productivity cheers to a productive week fam 💙

A tragic day Men don't cry, but I cried! I sent my car for service in preparation for my trip to Benue since Wednesday. The vehicle was not returned until yesterday evening. I was very angry that the mechanic delayed my planned trip but was also glad that he brought the car back for me to leave this morning. So I decided to drive around to be sure the car was in good condition for the trip, this was about 7.30pm...I drove up to the Games Village Traffic Junction and the car stopped. I tried starting it and it won't start, so I parked, called the mechanic, who told me he has gone home but will see if he can make it back to me. So I decided to start the car once more and Bang! The car burst into flames...I ran out of the car in shock and confusion. The next episode of this mishap is the reason for my narrative. From the moving traffic, I saw men and boys park their cars and were rushing to my burning car with fire extinguishers, some were struggling to open the bonnet. From a building inside games village, I heard women screaming and passing buckets of water, bags of detergents. I saw a guy removed his t-shirt, soaked it in water and was trying to open the bonnet with fire covering his hands. In all this, I was just standing by a tree, with my eyes staring into space, till I saw the flames go out eventually and I heard someone asked...where is the owner of the car? It was then and only then that I stepped forward and found myself being hugged and consoled by strangers, Nigerians, Muslims, Christians, traditionalist and may be atheist. All joined to wish me well and they turned to their cars or homes one after the other. The last being the guy who suffers a deep cut to his leg where he was helping out. As soon as he left, I turned to see what was left of the car and I counted 13 fire extinguishers that were used, other items that were used and also the charred remains of someone's t-shirt that was used. Just when tears started forming in my eyes, I noticed I was not still alone, there were two policemen who helped to salvage the burning car and have chosen to remain with me till I get family and friends to come take me away. At that moment, my belief that a New Nigeria is possible was renewed and I was proud to be a Nigerian. I woke up this morning thinking, where and how did we get so divided and polarised as a nation, when before my own eyes I saw Musa, Obi, Femi, Andrew, Mike all helping to salvage my car, without caring who I was. I thank God for his mercies and for the good people of Nigeria...together we shall overcome. True story by John George Disclaimer: This article is written in respect to what happened to my brother and not to me. Thank you all.

I finished with a pass I am so glad to be back My phone packed up. That's where all my content for this month are. I had to go dig up this old phone this morning. Na to buy new phone o😔. Wetin person no plan for. We move. I don miss una Below is a short story of a friend of mine that I was told today. I was really touched. "My Dad died a few months after I obtained my National Diploma so I couldn't go back for my HND as at when due. Mhen! Things rough gan that period. Life changed overnight. I remember there were days that we stayed from morning till night without eating. Life😢 I had to start working to help out with some responsibilities at home. I eventually worked in a couple of places. I remember one interview I went for several years ago. I got to find out about the job on the day of the interview. It was the position of a Marketing Manager in one small establishment. I got dressed and headed to the venue. I met a couple of people there. They were waiting for the Management's decision. I arrived late so the secretary didn't bother asking me any questions. I told her I was there for the interview. She went in to tell her boss and I was invited in. . The interview went well. I was asked for my credentials. I presented it and they were shocked to discover that I was an ND holder. Yes. Remember, I was already late so I was ushered in immediately for the interview. My boss decided to break protocol and offered me the job. I got the job. There were University and Polytechnic graduates there o. My salary was 30k. Na plenty money that time😜, 2005. I worked there and delivered till I got another offer and left. I was not only an ND holder. I finished with a PASS, the lowest grade.😕 Am I proud of the fact that I had a PASS? No. Far from it but I didn't let that hold me back. I choose not to brood over things that I can not CHANGE. I DID NOT ALLOW IT DEFINE ME." Some people feel intimidated or inferior because they are HND graduates. If I hear am.🧐 The fact that you finished with a 2.2 or a lesser grade does not mean that your life has come to an end. Good grades are good BUT when they don't happen, do not kill yourself. Move past it, love You and work on being the best version of you. I believe in Personal Development in all ramifications. Invest in your personality now. The past is gone forever. My name is Priscillia. I am working on being the best version of me.

Business in school, yay or nay? Hello everyone, I'm Priscillia and below is a short story of my life journey. When I told my mum that I would like to start a business in school, here's what she said. "Rofiat, face your book and graduate with good grades first." Unfortunately, I live in Nigeria. More unfortunately, I happen to know people who graduated from University with very good results and are still jobless. Some of them eventually went into buying and selling for survival. And a few of them were lucky to have daddies that helped them lobby for a good job. That opened my eyes to the truth. That going to school isn't all about having a first-class or second-class upper. It also entails developing yourself for the outer world. Challenging yourself to evolve. The public market isn't smiling, I tell you. So, you need to stand out. Most times, in a bid to have excellent results, we limit ourselves to our classroom. We refuse to explore. And end up clueless and confused after graduation. Dear UG, 📍Live a life outside your classroom. 📍 Network within and outside the four walls of your school. 📍Learn a skill totally different from your field of study at school. 📍Volunteer with organizations and associations within or outside school. 📍 Don't limit your learning to school books only. I'm not saying you shouldn't focus on school. You should, because education is important. But I am also reminding you that there's a bigger world to face out there. A world that is less concerned about what grade you graduated with or which school you attended. But more focused on what you can offer to the world as a person. Okay, back to me.. I'm now a fashion designer in which my mum is so proud of .. I sow her different styles every time and she always love it. She now says that she loves my spirit that she loves the fact that I'm a goal getter and also the fact that I'm doing great in my field. Please I would advise you to not let anyone kill your dream, not even your parent, siblings, pastors, boyfriend/girlfriend, family members and so on. I tell you that it will get to a point when they will be the one complimenting your effort. They will want to support you with everything in them. They will be so proud of you as long as you are doing so well in whatever you are doing. You have lots of potential in you which you have to put to use. A lot of people out there are awaiting your manifestation, show them that you can do it. Start now, I mean start from your college or university time. Don't wait till when you are already a graduate and the world is already expecting so much from you. It is then that you will be feeling too big to get involved in some certain type of business because u are now a graduate. Build that connection now in ur university, trust me this is the best time and I promise that you will be happy you did. Remember this saying? "Don't make the classroom your world, make the world your classroom." Experiment. Fail. Grow. Evolve. How did your own life journey go, if you are willing to share, kindly share with me below in the comment section 👇. I love you all, see you tomorrow 😍

Gender inequalities I was in a cab some time ago and the driver wanted to pick up a man. The driver continued to move the cab while telling the man to hurry up and hop in. The man who was carrying a huge load couldn't meet up with the cab. The driver then said, "look at him, walking sluggishly like a woman". The words infuriated me, however, I waited a few seconds and said to him "why would you say he is sluggish like a woman?" Do you mean women are sluggish sets of humans? "You are not half as smart as many women I know" His mouth dropped open for many seconds and words refused to come out. 90% of abuse (verbal, emotional, physical), child marriage, and all forms of gender-based violence melted towards women are propagated by men (I stand to be corrected) In as much as we bring interventions geared towards improving the livelihood of women, we must start working on more advocacy messages, education geared and targeted towards raising responsible boys who will become responsible men to reduce these incidences of inappropriateness propagated by them. I told myself "more work needs to be done to involve men in all aspect that has to do with improving the lives of our children, our women, and the nation at large". I am positive if we target interventions at men while we continue to raise empowered women, our families, our communities, and the nation will be safer and more prosperous. Parents you need to realize that more than you're grooming your children, you're almost grooming someone's friend, wife, husband and we have many imbalanced marriages because boys were groomed to feel so entitled and not accountable.
