Ethics of Life

It's a privilege to be here again to write something to us and I hope it will do us good to go through them all. Happy Weekend and I want to use this opportunity to appreciate those always visiting my posts and my sponsors too. Two days ago, I was watching some videos on YouTube when I sighted these ethics of life by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, and I was so much motivated and I decided to share what I learnt from him. He talked about six of them and I would be explaining to us in my own way.

Let's define what Ethics is: Ethics are standards or principles that relate to right and wrong. They are rules to obey in order to know the right or wrong thing so we don't end up going against any rules. In all professions, there are ethics to abide with. As they say "Where is there is no law, there is no sin". If there are no ethics governing a profession, everyone will do whatever they like and there won't be orderliness with the profession. Just like there are ethics in profession, so also there is in life.

Yesterday, I wrote on the formulas of living a happy life, and with this, I believe we can live a happy life.

ETHICS OF LIFE

1. BEFORE YOU SPEAK, LISTEN

Most times, we tend to jump into conclusion over an argument and at the end, we discover we are at fault because we fail to listen attentively to what is being argued on and we become object of ridicule. A wise man listens attentively, so that when he give a thought about what he has heard, he can be able to speak reasonably and with this, his suggestion or opinion can be a solution to what has been said. It's very important to listen first before we say anything because whatever we say can be used against us when we are wrong. To be a wise man and not to make any blunders, it is good that we listen carefully.

2. BEFORE YOU PRAY, BELIEVE

Prayer is the key and can open every doors only if we believe. In fact, the Bible is a witness to that in Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours".

When we pray and still have a doubting mind, our prayers can never be answered because it is like putting God to a test if he would do it or not, and when He knows this, He will never do it until you believe everything is possible with Him. Whatever you want from God, before you ask Him, you need to believe that He has done it, then our faith will work for us.

We also need to know the story of the woman with issue of blood for twelve years, She said something which I strongly believe it was her faith that made her receive healing instantly. She said "If only I can touch the hem of His garment, I will be healed". She believed Jesus before touching His garments. This is what we ought to do too in order for us to receive what we are asking for.

3. BEFORE YOU SPEND, EARN

There are those who loves to spend beyond their capacity especially those who loves to spend extravagantly without considering how much they earn. Some want to spend but are lazy to work. Remember, no food for a lazy man. You need a stable income first before you plan on spending. You need to cut your coat according to your size. Having the mentality of spending without Earning is foolish. Don't depend on anyone to help you, help yourself first by finding something to do to earn, then you can think of spending.

4. BEFORE YOU QUIT, TRY

I understand some of us trying but it's not bringing good result and because of that, we are so tired to give up. I want you to know it is not late for you but not giving up will someday bring a good result. If at all you want to quit just because you have tried so many times, think about why you started, you wouldn't want to go through that stress of quitting seeing how far you have gone. Don't waste your time ending it because you haven't achieved your aim. It is okay to rest but quitting is not the best option until you get what you want. Remember, giving it a try again and again will one-day lead you to success. Don't quit, keep trying. There is hope as long as you breathe.

5. BEFORE YOU WRITE, THINK

Just like a professional writer, it's expedient for you to think before writing to the public. We just can't pick a pen and start writing anything that do not make sense. Remember you are writing to the public and if you write rubbish, you are altering your personality. Think of what you want to write, make research, Look for materials to back your words up, restructure your articles before posting. You have to think before you act. Think before you write.

6. BEFORE YOU DIE, LIVE

We all need to understand that there is hope in every circumstances we may find ourselves. No matter what you are going through, remember you live for a purpose and trying to end your life because you are ashamed of yourself or trying to cover up your stigma, then you commit suicide, it's not the end of the world. There is still more to do while you live, than dying not to fulfill your purpose. If you do not have today, tomorrow will surely come. Don't end your life but believe problems do not last forever, they will expire someday.
