FAMILY TIES Strong Family Ties: Filipinos are often close to their family and other relatives. The main social system of the Filipinos is the family. Many Filipinos live close to their relatives, even if they are older or have a family of their own. Usually a house in the Philippines consists of more than two families. HANDLING THE ELDERLY Grooming is a Filipino custom to show respect for the elderly. It refers to taking the hand of the elder and applying it to the forehead, at the same time saying mano po. This is often done as a greeting on arrival or before leaving. Children are taught early leadership as a sign of respect.

BAYANIHAN: Bayanihan is formed in the organizations of neighbors who work together whenever or wherever help is needed. Bayanihan can often be seen on vehicles with flat tires. The bystanders and the people near here will also immediately help the driver no matter what happens only if the damaged vehicle is repaired. Or it is more often described by the relocation of those in the province. Serenade is an activity that Filipinos have long been accustomed to and became popular a long time ago. SIMBANG GABI Simbang Gabi is a traditional celebration of Holy Mass in the Philippines during the Christmas season. It is also called Misa-de-galyo because at the crowing of the rooster, families will get up to listen to mass at the nearest parish church. It is a mass held every morning for nine days before Christmas Day. Mass begins on December 16 to 24, usually in Roman Catholic.
