All About Being a Responsible Voter
As the elections are getting nearer and nearer and the politicians who are running for positions are getting busier and busier in campaigning, I think that this topic is relevant and worth pondering.
The first step in becoming a responsible citizen is exercising the right to vote. As citizens of a country, we are entitled to the right to vote. The right to vote is a basic right that allows you to have your voice heard and to have your problems and issues addressed. It is also necessary for democracy to continue to function properly, with complete responsibility and accountability to the people. For all citizens, exercising our freedom to vote is essential since the future of the nation is heavily dependent on the leadership of that country, as well as the residents of that country.
It is critical also to stay up to current on election-related news by reading newspapers, visiting online news portals, periodicals, or even using news apps to stay updated about what is going on in the political arena.
Read quite a lot and perhaps chat to people who are open for discussions relating to political concerns.
Listen to political podcasts that aren't merely paid trolls for specific individuals or viewpoints. Try to learn about candidates' backgrounds in government, economics, the army, or anything material about them.
A voter should also double-check any information because it may be unnecessarily sensationalized. There is a lot of fake news going around all platforms that intends to fool poeple. Be sure to not be a victim of it.
At the very least, a voter should be responsible and accountable for any measures that a politician promises and then implements that were underperformed during and after their election.
Voters should not be swayed. During elections, leaders frequently target, bribe, or make emotional pleas to their people. The voter ought to be aware and able to see through these pleas and misinformation.
In the Philippines where most people are below the poverty line, there are a number of people who would sell their vote. Their decision to whom they would cast their vote is blided by the money given by such running government officials. That’s the sad reality of today. That’s probably the reason why it’s hard for us to attain progress because we are governed by mostly corrupt and incompenent government officials.
In this coming election, may we all exercise our right to vote responsibly and with accountablity.
Hello, everyone! Are you all okay? Please include in your prayer the soldiers and other civilians who are fighting for their lives in this very moment. Thank you and God bless us all!
