Is it worth the 9 minute read? Heck. Who knows? But it's my story and I am sticking to it. The long and short is that I was once an exterminator, and did that job for 4 1/2 years. But how I got it was by pure accident. https://read.cash/@Porwest/how-i-became-an-exterminator-746583c8

That was a fun read! Sounds like Nestlé had a hyperactive HR department. Yuck!! How did y'all manage to never have money problems? BOTH you and your wife must be very good with money.
My wife, when we met, was a financial mess. lol. I manage all of the money and all of the investments. I won't say we never had "interesting" periods. But for the most part, I have always been good at managing money and investing it. So, it definitely provides for quite a bit of cushion that I am always grateful to have. It comes in really handy sometimes. As for Nestlé, it actually said a lot about whether or not it would be a company I would want to work for. I expect at least SOME level of flexibility of policy. There is a huge difference between intention and circumstance, and that's why I did not reapply.
