Having a new camera is no easy feat. You have to master the three aspects of photography.

  • ISO

  • APERTURE

  • SHUTTER SPEED

These three elements here are the key to perfect your photography skills.

Let's talk about ISO.

ISO is a setting in your camera that controls your camera's image sensor's light sensitivity, which means the higher the ISO, the lighter the image but more noise. Lower the ISO, the darker the image but less noise in the image.

Let's talk about aperture.

This is the most confusing of all the 3 settings; Aperture is where you can set how much light you want to enter and reach the camera sensor. Just imagine it's a window in your room. If you close it, it's darker in your room; while you open it up, it brightens up your room.

Setting your aperture also controls how much of the area or subject is focused. They call it in other terms F-stop don't get confused F-stop is the number in where you set your aperture the higher the F-stop means, the bigger the area is in focus, the lower the F-stop less area is focused then it will result in a bokeh or blur backgrounds.

Last but not least, Shutter Speed.

I will make it easy for you shutter speed is the speed of your mechanical shutter inside your camera. Imagine it as your eyelids that close and opens.

The faster the Shutter speed, the darker the image. The slower, the brighter the image becomes.

The faster the shutter speed you can freeze the motion, the slower the image will become blurred and vice versa.

Summary :

If you practiced enough with your camera, you could better understand much better how these settings work. I suggest you start shooting in Aperture priority. This setting automatically sets the right ISO and Shutter Speed for you while changing the aperture freely. It's a good place to start give it a try.
