the banaue rive terraces or hagdan-hagdang palayan in pilipino , said to be built with bare hands of the ancestor of indigenous people. this terraces once called "THE EIGHT WONDERS OF THE WORLD".
Locals up to day still plant rice and vagetables here but more and more younger ifugaos doesn't find farming appealing. they are more focus now to the hospitality and accomodation in banaue which lead to thing wonder of nature to dried up and need to reconstruct and care.
Maintenance of the living rice terraces reflects a primarily cooperative approach of the whole community which is based on detailed knowledge of the rich diversity of biological resources existing in the Ifugao agro-ecosystem, a finely tuned annual system respecting lunar cycles, zoning and planning, extensive soil conservation, and mastery of a complex pest control regime based on the processing of a variety of herbs, accompanied by religious rituals.
another economy of banaue is tourism. the toruism industry has developed some activities and sightseeing for the tourist. wearing traditional clothes of ifugaos while walking and taking a picture in terraces.

In the ending scene of the movie Avengers: Infinity War, the film’s main villain Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) is seen walking out of a small hut to watch the sunset on a vista of mountains and rice paddies. Bangkok-based Indochina Productions who had provided the image for the film production confirmed that the image is of the Banaue Rice Terraces.
