This article is a continuation of my previous article. I thought there was more to talk about this topic. If you have not read the first part, you can do so by clicking on the following link.
From Bad Luck To Good Luck
This kind of so-called good luck happens when you have bad luck first. God forbid, you break your leg and end up in hospital. There you meet another patient, with whom you get so involved, that when you get out of hospital you get married. Right? If you don't go to the hospital, you'll probably never meet the person you marry.
Superstitions
Do you believe in superstitions? Many people have superstitions, that not only bring bad luck, but also good luck, but they are spread as bad luck. Superstitions have existed since ancient times. What kind of superstitions do you know?
I know these the followings:
Don't go under a ladder.
Don't cross the path of a black cat.
If the mirror breaks, it's bad luck.
A chimney sweep is good luck.
Don't wish someone well before an exam. Wish for broken arms and legs.
I think that even if you have superstitions, you shouldn't take them too seriously. However, there are some buildings, where there is no 13th floor, because of the number 13 is an unlucky number. There are 12/a and 12/b, then 14th.
The number 13 is even associated with Friday - lucky for some, unlucky for others. Some people are specifically afraid of this date, but others can't wait for it to bring them luck. On this day, the lotteries' revenues increase.
Gambling
Here I would mention gambling. Gambling is after all nothing more, than a game. In lotteries, many people buy tickets in large numbers. I would say, and it is true, that you can only win with one ticket. I would not spend more money on that, but if I go to a horse race or a casino, I see it as a game. I pay to play, if I win I bet it as a bonus. If I lose I say I had a good time playing, but always play responsibly.
Two Types Of Luck
There are basically two kinds of luck. One is unexpected or chance, although we have already discussed, that there are no coincidences. This also depends on what you believe in. The other is when you come out of bad luck well in the end. So, what leads you to the good and what takes you away from the bad. Both are luck.
Everyone's life has had the experience of being unlucky at something, unlucky certain or close to unlucky, but getting away with it. Sometimes it is a very small matter of not being unlucky.
What I'm saying is, if you consider yourself unlucky in life, look back on your life and think about how much misfortune you've escaped. You will soon realise, that you are in fact a lucky person.
When I think back to when I was a teenager, I realise how many stupid things we used to do with my friends, which seemed like fun and a good laugh at the time, but now, looking back as an adult, it was very dangerous. I'd warn my kid not to do the things we did. I reminded myself, that I was lucky to be alive. Seriously, because it is very dangerous to swim in a river for example. As a young person you don't feel the weight of these things.
Lucky Symbols
I don't know if you have them in your country, but in Europe these are common:
Lucky Horseshoe
Horseshoes are less common nowadays, because people prefer to drive. Not that you can find car wheels. Maybe even in smaller villages where horse keeping is still popular.
The horseshoes symbolize luck, power over evil, good fortune and fertility. Horseshoes are associated with the strength and reliability of the horse. In a vertical position, they are also symbolic of the moon. Pointed downwards, it is the symbol of the bee.
For the Greeks it represented the crescent moon, which was considered a symbol of fertility. A horseshoe protects the house and the land, keeping strangers away. When the horseshoe is on the wall or over the door, the shape of the "U" will forever hold good luck in it.
Four-Leaf Clover
We consider this one lucky, because it is rarely found. If you find one in a field or forest, take it home and either keep it or give it away. It's not luck that you have it, it's luck that you found it. In Ireland, the four-leaf clover is associated with St. Partick's Day.
When Eve had to leave paradise, she was lucky enough to take a four-leaf clover with her.
Some Tips To Make You A Real Winner
Notice Your Luck
If you recognise, that you've been lucky at something, be grateful and thankful for it. The more you think about luck, the more you get it. The way life works is, that the more you think about it, the more it happens.
Be Happy For The Luck Of Others
Don't be jealous of the lucky one. Instead, be happy for them. If you don't believe, that they were really lucky and didn't become lucky through corruption, then there is a better chance, that you will be lucky too.
Make Others Lucky
If you are not very lucky, at least give others a chance. Many times you can see people organising giveaways especially on YouTube. It's not a big amount of money, but the experience is definitely positive if someone wins.
Appreciate The Small Prize
If you haven't won or found a big amount, don't underestimate it. Where there are small things there are big things. A fisherman knows, that where there are small fish there are big fish and will keep fishing. There's a popular saying for that. "He who doesn't appreciate the small doesn't deserve the big."
Intuition
If you feel lucky about something at the moment, act immediately. Trust your intuition, don't think about whether to do it or not, because it's no longer intuition. Just do it straight away without thinking.
Make Room For Your Luck
I'm talking mainly about relationships here. If you're not lucky in love, make room for it. Always have a tidy home. If it's not tidy, it means a prospective partner wouldn't fit in, because they can't move, because of the mess. It's in your subconscious mind, that if you took someone home, they wouldn't fit.
