Knowing your personal inner values will keep you grounded. You must have a singular vision to create your singular values. Know your strengths to help you build your singularity purpose. The seven pillars of personal inner values are built on trust, respect, truth, service, compromise, emotions and relationship.
The relationships pillar is based on other people; relationships are what keep these values together. It's important, that your actions are in sync with your inner values. These seven pillars are the foundation for this.
Also to keep your inner values well maintained you have to ask yourself the following questions. What's important to me? What am I good at? How strong is the way I think? How strong is my personality? Do I have purpose, focus and vision?
The 7 Pillars:
Trust: Trust is about being able to be honest with yourself and others. If you can't do that, then how can you expect anyone else to? Trust is also about being able to hold onto things, that are valuable to you even if they aren't as important to others. If someone isn't willing or able to share something with you, it's not worth keeping.
Respect: Respect is the belief, that someone or something is worthy of honor, dignity, and admiration. It's a strong sense that people, ideas, principles and races are deserving of honor. Without it, there would be no point in having any other form of respect. It's important to understand, that not all forms of respect are the same.
Truth: The truth is everyone's goal. If everyone always told the truth, then there would be no need for trust, because everyone could just see things as they really are. However, some people will lie even though it isn't in their best interest. It is important to know the difference between being deceitful and lying. Deceiving someone can be used in a good way. Lying to someone is ultimately destructive.
Service: Serving others is one of the highest forms of honor. Not everyone wants to be served. Instead, some people wish to be the ones serving others. This can be a wonderful thing as long as those others are deserving of such a position. It's fine to serve people, who don't deserve it as well, but it isn't as fulfilling. Those, who truly respect you will want you to serve them in any way that you can. People, who are willing to put themselves in harm's way to protect you are deeply honoring you.
Compromise: The ability to make tough decisions and compromises is a very valuable quality in life. You have to be willing to make choices between bad things so that others can enjoy something good. This is particularly true in teamwork. You can't have one person doing it all alone. Making tough choices between wrong or right is another key aspect of compromise. Sometimes you have to give something up to get something better.
Emotions: Emotions are a part of everyone. The trick is to not let them control you. Emotions are good, and letting them control you is bad. When you let emotions control you, then that's when you make bad choices. If you let your emotions dictate how you act, then you will also let others dictate how you should act. The only person you should let dictate your actions is yourself.
Relationship: This pillar is about your relationship with others. This obviously includes your loved ones, but it also extends to your team members and others you work with. A good relationship is key to being happy. Sometimes those good old emotions get in the way of logic and good judgment. A good relationship also entails putting up with others, because of their positive qualities, not just their negative ones.
Questions You Have To Ask Yourself
What's Important To Me?
The three main things that are important to you are your family, your friends and yourself. It's important to value the people, who care about you. They're family, after all. On the other hand, it's important to be pragmatic and understand, that not everyone is worth caring about. Sometimes there are people who bring you down and you need to stay focused on yourself and moving forward. If you don't, then you won't be able to care about others in the way, that they need to be cared about.
This is all about your self-esteem. Your self-esteem doesn't just refer to your feelings of self-worth. It encompasses how much value and importance you place on yourself as an individual. You need to value yourself enough to not let others bring you down.
What Am I Good At?
This is about your abilities. What are you really good at? These things may be something, that you consider your "real job" or something, that you just genuinely enjoy doing. Maybe it's a talent, that you have that others don't know about yet. Whatever it is that you're good at, you should cherish it and never ever give it up. These are things, that you have and you should never forget about them. Never. If you do, you'll lose a part of yourself.
How Strong Is The Way I Think?
This is all about your intelligence. The idea is to have an intelligent mind, because having a smart mind means, that you'll be able to make the right choices in life. These choices will help you achieve your goals.
You should always remain open to new ideas and ways of thinking. Even if something doesn't seem correct immediately, it may be correct for you in the future. You should challenge yourself to think in different ways. Don't get stuck in a rut, where you only think one way. It's important to be curious.
How Strong Is My Personality?
The idea is to have a strong personality, because having a strong personality means, that you'll be able to handle things better. You'll also be able to get your point across to others. These two are connected in the sense, that if you're strong, then you're probably going to have a voice and be vocal about what you want. If you're vocal, you'll probably get your point across. You need to remain firm with who you are even in changing circumstances. Don't compromise yourself for the sake of others or a situation. Remain true to your personality and you'll be fine.
Do I Have Purpose, Focus And Vision?
The answer to this question is very important. You need to be sure about your purpose in life, because if you aren't sure what that is, then it will be difficult for you to direct your life. It's also important to have a vision of where you want your life to go. Without that, you're not going to know how to get there.
This is about your destination in life. It's about your life's work. It's about your passion. It's about your zest for life. It's about where you find fulfillment. Without a purpose, focus and vision, you'll drift from one situation to another without really working towards a goal.
This can be different things to different people. For some, it could mean money. For others, it could mean a specific kind of power. For others it could mean a relationship they're in. Whatever it is, find what this is for you. Find your reason or reasons for living. You need to live for more, than just surviving.
To someone like me who's very aloof and quiet in personal the opposite of my being talkative here lol - I'm not sure if I can get a good relationship with others. But then, I'll just try my hardest to get along with them 🤧
