Nowadays, using technology, such as machines, gadgets, appliances, etc. is very rampant, (it's like a must). Almost all people from our population of 7.8 billion use these technologies.
Is technology really essential for humankind? Yes, of course. Most industries, companies and people depend on it. It functions a lot even just at home. *(Imagine when you don't have cellphone, TV, radio...hmm.)*
Since technology is a broad one, let's just talk about the perks and jerks of mobile phones.
Mobile phones are widely use, not just by adults but also by kids. Children nowadays, were exposed with phones.
***Some Perks of Mobile Phones:***
***Accessible Communication.** Mobile phone is a very good medium of communication. You don't need to travel to check your loved ones, to submit urgent reports on work or to talk with other people.
***Academic Tool.** Using phones in school is like a must nowadays. This is use for researching, serve as reference, tool for reports and other requirements, etc...
***Positive Convenience.** Aside from the mentioned benefits of mobile phones in communication, mobile phones are also use in purchasing foods, gadgets, appliances, cosmetics and many more (*market on phone).*
***Entertainment.** Mobile phones are packed with so much entertainment. There were games, social media, videos and so on. This is also good for relaxing times.
***Training Tool.** There were applications in mobile phones that can be used to acquire new knowledge and skills, like for cooking variety of foods, technical support for different gadgets, health practices and the like. Young ones who were exposed to this applications showed positive outcome in acquiring good knowledge with different language
***Help to Gain Profit.** A lot of earning sites and applications were established. It allow phone users like us to earn money from it.
***Some Jerks of Mobile Phones:***
***Laziness**. Some people tend to be lazy caused by using mobile phones frequently. Routines such as traveling, walking, writing and more were not done as it is done normally.
***Lack of attention.** When using mobile phones, our attention is on it. Sometimes, we did not notice or hear things properly which can cause miscommunication and worst, accidents.
***Prone to Scams.** As earning sites boomed in the crowd, the number of scam sites, scammers and also scammed persons had also increased. *So watch out people.*
***Inappropriate Contents** ***(for children)****.* Without proper guidance, children may be prone to view or read inappropriate contents, specially on videos. *Beware parents.*
***Health Issues.** Overusing of mobile phones can lead to different health issues, such as headaches, sleep disorder, depression, eyesight problems and cancer.
***Mobile Phones*** are in deed essential in our living. It can help us in many ways. It can be used by young ones and adult. But remember, all things must be used with ***moderation***.
Scare caused by Fake News
Let me just share to you my experience yesterday.
Friday was our schedule for skeletal work in school. We also celebrated a retirement day for one of our colleagues, of course, with caution and social distancing. We enjoyed the celebration even we're meters away from our co-workers and friends.
Until the short party ended. Some went home, and some of us stayed in the office. After a while, we received a message from our head, calling our attention and asking some of us to go in her office. When we're there, a shocking and scary news was shared to us, 'There's a positive CoViD patient in our town, and worse he's here in the barangay, not far from the school'. We are really scared that time because the identified house of the patient was very near in the school.
We did not spread the word as our head ordered us, since there was no official announcement yet. After some minutes, through social media, we read some news about it. There were different versions, some news are saying that "the patient escaped from the quarantine facility", another is that "he went home already" and the other one is that, "he's already roaming around the place".
We're really confused and become more scared reading these news. Until, we went home hurriedly and sanitized ourselves immediately. After an hour, the mayor made clarifications through the TV and facebook live. He said that the patient did not escaped from the quarantine facility, he was sent in the barangay health center for another quarantine, and he was not able to go home yet. These are clear! Now, we can breath easily and we're not that scared anymore. What I learned is that, '***don't believe and conclude things easily', 'it's important to wait for official announcements', 'always validate news' and 'trust GOD'.***
Who's Pegasus?
Hi everyone! First of all, I would like to thank the developers of this site and community for allowing me to join here.
I would like to introduce myself. My real name is Venus, and why pegasus? it's because, that's my favorite mythical creature since I was young. I'm currently 22 years old and employed. I'm single, but I'm raising a family since I'm the breadwinner.
I write for a publication before, when I was still a student. But then I quit. I can not fully commit myself in writing articles because of hectic schedules, that is why I decided to choose between my studies and my passion in writing. As a writer, I can't say that I am good at it, well, basically, I'm a news writer before... We have standards for writing news, like it must be: not too wordy, no ambiguity or direct to the point, supported by evidence and only by facts, not include personal opinion and so on. So free writing, poem writing and creative feature writing are very different with news writing.
Thus, this will be a challenge for me, as I return in writing...
I hope, I'm doing at least good in this site.
Once Upon a Time in Manila...
In April 2018, we traveled to Manila, Philippines to attend the National DOST Scholars' Summit (NDSS) which was hosted by the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman Campus.
Though I'm a Filipino, that was my first time to travel in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, together with my two friends/ classmates and co-scholars.
The summit lasts for three days. We did not go home immediately, and decided to spent some time roaming Quezon City, Sampaloc and Ermita.

**Rizal Park** also known as Luneta Park or just Luneta - A historic Urban park located in Ermita, Manila; the site of the most significant moments in the Philippine History.
**Manila Ocean Park.** The first world-class marine theme park in the Philippines.

It is really fun and relaxing to watch the dancing fountain at night. You'll appreciate its beauty in the dark.
If I would be given a time and chance to visit Manila again, I absolutely will.

Scholarship is waving!
Education is very important for us, specially at present and in the future. Nowadays, many companies, or any field of works have high standards and qualifications in terms of accepting employees. It's really hard to find a decent and well-compensated jobs when you did not finished degree/bachelor courses. An exemption "sometimes", are the blue-collar jobs but requires strong and skilled body for hard manual works.
My/our country, Philippines, is still facing this education crisis. Why? Because not all children are sent to school. Some children decided to work at their young age to help their family, some have financial burdens/ problems, others have problems in the location of the schools (for remote areas), and sadly, some doesn't really want to study. As for the parents, most of them are willing to send their children in school but are facing financial problem.
The government and its different agencies are trying to help children to continue learning and to pursue their dreams by offering free tuition fee for public/government schools and even universities, and giving scholarships.
Let me say that I am a proud product of scholarships. I finished my education until my tertiary education (college) by availing different scholarships; local scholarship (given by the provincial government), university scholarships (through academic achievement and university publication) and of course, DOST Scholarship (given by the Department of Science and Technology).
DOST Scholarship is a great help for me, specially for financial needs. If you are interested pursuing Science, Mathematics or Technology courses, this is best for you. Trying to sing Jar of Hearts
Good day everyone!
Recently, I joined an application, singing application specifically. This app is called WeSing.
Well, I'm not a good singer HAHAHA, but I love singing. As my mother told me before, I really love singing since I was young, well, kids you know, shameless. They told me that, I was singing even in a jeepney or in a bus. My mother tried to stop me me, but I wouldn't.
When growing up, I stop singing, not that fully stopped but singing seldom times, just when needed. Now, I'm trying to sing again.

****Isabela**** is the largest province on the island of Luzon in land area and the second largest province in the Philippines.
It is well known as the *'Queen Province of the North'*. In agriculture is known as *'Top Corn Producer of the Philippines'*, and *'Rice Bowl of the North'*.
Aside from a being a premier province in the north and most progressive in the country, it also has its beauty in terms of rich, bountiful and breath-taking spots.
***Honeymoon Island*** is located in the town of Divilacan. It is one of the most famous travel destination in the province. The heart-shaped island is surrounded by white-sand beaches and faces the Pacific Ocean.
***Magat Dam*** can be found in the town of Ramon. It is one of the largest dams in the Philippines. It is a multi-purpose dam which is used primarily for irrigating agricultural lands, flood control, power generation through the Magat Hydroelectric Power Plant and also become a tourist destination.
***San Pablo Church Ruins***. The church was built in 1624 making it the oldest church in the province. During the World War II, the church was heavily damaged by Japanese bombings. The ruins was visited by local and foreign tourists especially during pilgrimages.
***Dibulo Falls*** is an attraction in Dinapigue, Isabela. It is the tallest falls in the province at about 100 meters high. The falls was blessed with cold and clean water that is fun for swimming and refreshing.

Makakapagtapos Ako!
Lumaki ako sa simple at hindi marangyang pamilya. Parehong hindi nakapagtapos ang mga magulang ko, dahil maaga silang nag-asawa. Malaking disappointment sa parehong side ng mga magulang ko ang kanilang ginawa lalo't graduating nun si mama at college din si papa. Ang naging tingin tuloy nila sa'kin, 'History repeats itself', naniniwala silang hindi rin ako makakapagtapos ng pag-aaral at mag-aasawa rin ng maaga.
Hindi ako nagpatalo lalo't suportado naman ng pamilya ko ang aking pag-aaral. Nang tumungtong ako sa elementarya, maayos naman ang lahat, hindi natatapos ang school year na wala akong honor. Kahit papaano, nakapagtapos naman ako ng elementarya.
Sa sekondarya naman, natuto akong mag-enroll magka-isa kahit na ang paaralan ay nasa ibang barangay na. Nang magsimula ang klase, medyo nahirapan na kami lalo sa pamasahe araw-araw, minsan hindi na ako kumain para lang may pamasahe sa susunod na araw. Nasanay rin akong maglakad ng mahigit tatlong kilometrong daan pag uwian.
Nakaranas din ako ng diskriminasyon sa eskwelahan, dahil sa hirap ng buhay, napagbibintangan akong nagnakaw kahit na hindi naman. Napapagalitan at pinapahiya ako ng ibang guro dahil hindi ako makapagpasa ng requirements on time. Hindi rin ako nakakapunta sa mga extra-curricular activities dahil wala akong pambayad. Tiniis ko lahat yun para lang makapagtapos. Natapos ko ang sekondarya, na may karangalan.
Kolehiyo na ang aking pinasukan. Hindi ako tumigil kahit gusto ng tatay kong patigilin ako. Pumasok ako at naghanap ng kung ano-anong scholarships, Academic scholarship, publication scholarship, local scholarship at kung ano-ano pa. Pero kung gaano ang hirap nung nasa sekondarya ako ay mas mahirap na naman dito. Mas malayo ang unibersidad, mas maraming requirements, at mas maraming gastusin. Nagtiis ako at nagtipid. Tiniis ko ang gutom, pagod, at pati panlalait ng ibang tao. Kahit sinasabi nilang, "Bakit pa kasing pinipilit pag-aralin ehh nahihirapan na nga?" Nakakasakit pero nakakadagdag motibasyon. Hanggang nakatapos din ako sa kolehiyo.
Nagreview, nagboard exam, nakapasa at ngayon lisensyado na!
Marami man ang hindi nagtiwala sa kakayahan ko, pero marami din naman ang taong nagpatibay ng loob ko. Lalo na't kasama ko ang Diyos at ang pamilya ko, ang dating kasabihang "MAKAKAPAGTAPOS AKO ay naging SA WAKAS, NAKAPAGTAPOS NA AKO!"

Just wondering!
I'm wondering why I can't receive any comment or like.
Am I that bad in writing?
Yes, I'm not the best writer, nor a good one. I'm just fond of writing things inside my head, actually, it's my hobby before. I also joined journalism back then, when I was in high school and college. But time really changes everything. As time goes by, not little by little but very fast, I can not do the same things as before. I barely spent time for my hobbies and interest, I guess, I'm in the career stage, a tough one for me.
I spent most of my time in work, work, work! To the extent that I really forgot to eat. Well, am I happy? My answer is YES! I found self-fulfillment in the nature of my job. But still hoping, that someday, I can manage everything, my career, hobbies and interests, personal goals and gala moments.

Sa kabila ng pandemiyang CoViD19, nagsimula na noong ika-isa ng Hunyo ang enrollment sa parehong elementarya at sekondarya sa anumang baitang.
Base sa aking karanasan, karamihan sa tanong ng mga magulang o tagapag-alaga ng mga estudyante ay 'Paano ang pagpasok ng bata?' 'Kailangan ba talagang bumili ng gadgets at magkaroon ng internet?' 'Papasok ba sila sa eskwelahan?' 'May bakuna na ba?' 'Marami bang babayaran?'.
Kung iisipin, ang dami o ang laki ng pagbabago ng sistema ngayon. Ang dating hirap ng pagpapa-aral at pag-aaral ay lalo pang humirap. Pareho ding mahihirapan ang mga estudyante, magulang maging ang mga guro.
Ngunit sa pagnanais ng mga bata at magulang na makatapos sa tamang panahon, ninais din ng karamihan na makisabay sa enrollment at pumayag sa pagbubukas ng klase sa buwan ng Agosto.
Kung ikaw ang tatanungin, papayag ka bang matuloy ang pasukan sa Agosto?
