Waking up on a Saturday morning and realizing that the wedding you want to attend, having prepared weeks ago, getting the proposed official dress and sewing it, shoes to match and finally a clean hair-cut, all to appear simply classy at the event, only to discover that your wardrobe has been burgled.

This is what I woke up to meet today. In my case, my clothes and shoes were not stolen but my pot of newly cooked fresh fish stew. The kitchen burglary and window was torn wide open and my pot of soup went away in transit through the window port. So, I had to deal with this before dressing up to the solemnization of *Kelly and Tricia's* wedding in a few hours.

Sooner than I thought, the welder fixed the damaged window and burglary and inset out in my car. The road seemed freer today than in workdays where you have to hit the highway before daybreak to escape the heavy traffic. As I maneuvered the last u-turn before climbing the third mainland bridge, a hold-up ensued.

Hawkers trading their wares flashed different commodities like flash drives, monopoly, Scrabble board, bathroom slippers, art paintings, facemask, etc. Since I had nothing in mind to buy, I didn't look in their direction.

The go-slow at this point is taking about ten minutes from my time. I looked at the rear mirror and saw one funny situation. Some young guys were robbing commuters of their valuables at gunpoint. Commercial bus passengers are their main target in this particular area.

This got me infuriated but I held my steering tightly. A policeman like myself that's not on duty need not jump into action else he'd be lynched when the robbery had ended. This had been the prevailing policeman fear after the protest hashtag end SARS (#EndSARS).

I simply radioed my police unit that covers this area and the men swung into action immediately tracing my car that has the national police tracking radar. This time, it was a swift response. The boys were rounded-up and my raged quenched. The funny thing here is that, with one of the guys, I found my kitchen knife.

These same guys robbed my kitchen. Then nicely there is more to this than meet the eyes.

Kelly won't forgive for coming late to his wedding. I just winked at the men and drove off. The bride was in profession into the church hall when I parked my car. I followed closely, until the clergy started the service.

Who gives this woman put in marriage?

Chief Donald worked up to the clergyman taking Tricia's hand and handed her to Kelly before other citations continued.

Their marriage was blessed and the church service came to a close as the procession of the newlyweds matched to the front of the church where the order of photography was called.

I started practicing lines in the few wedding I had featured as the master of ceremony(MC). Before the photography was concluded, I drove to the reception hall and ensure everything was in place, else the boys will skin me alive when we meet to appraise activities during the wedding. We have always done so each time an event was organized by any of us.

When I reached the event place, I discovered that the microphone isn't clear enough, so I requested that the DJ does something or losses the remaining money for his contract.

Soon, the coupled arrived. On the face of Kelly, I noticed the smile, maybe it was telling me welcome or something else, I wouldn't know until after the wedding. So, the guard of honour, made up of the bride's made and the groom's men were well kitted. The entry was superb. I made this known to the guest as I speak withy baritone voice through the microphone:

This perhaps is the best couple entry for the year. Kelly dug it in style and Tricia did not concede to defeat. Good dance again.

The went on and on as different delicacies were served to the numerous guest who had flocked from nowhere precisely. The church service was a direct opposite. I think guys would preferably want to attend the reception of a wedding party than to be in the solemnization proceedings.

Now that I have successful hosted the party, I will get to rest tomorrow and check out those boys who burgled my kitchen and carted away my pot of fresh fish stew.

Being an MC is just a side attraction to what many people do. A soldier or police, the passion for it matters most.
