Arthur ascended the throne of his father as King when he was just eight years old. Who says an eight years boy cannot rule an entire kingdom? His father Nzeribe was loved by the people for his numerous humane acts. His rule was peaceful, it witnessed another level of development in the history of the kingdom.

Nzeribe reigned for forty-two years. He was stricken in an age before his demise. The entire empire of Zlupejen mourned him for a whole year before the decision to crown his son in his stead.

When Arthur was installed, he continued the good strides his father left. The people were glad they didn't make the wrong choice in choosing him as King through the Zlupejen-in-council.

On his thirteenth year as King, the council decided that he should marry to make him more responsible and to administer the affairs of the kingdom more passionately.

To the east of Zlupejen, there was another powerful kingdom but not as large and populous as Zlupejen. There were many beautiful ladies there. Such that great merchants from all parts of the Maghreb come to take one as a wife.

King Arthur then sent emissaries to the King of the empire to the west of Zlupejen. As they approached the gates of the empire, the emissaries were arrested and killed, all of them.

This act triggered the anger of King Arthur. He immediately ordered a council meeting where he opined that war is declared against the empire to the east. He told the council:

This is humiliation!

We can't allow our position as world power dragged in the mud.

Let's declare war.

As he spoke on. The eldest man, Morgan, in the council called his attention.

War is a wreck.

There can never be a victor, neither will there be a vanquished where consider war.

Morgan appeased that anger of King Arthur.

Give the king water, let him drink.

After King Arthur was done drinking the water, his temper cooled and he decided to take a nap so this rage will pass. Thus, his rage quenched.

In a big feast, King Arthur married a commoner, Laura who saved his entourage from an impending ambush. She became the first and only wife of King Arthur.

Being the daughter of a poor farmer, she advised Arthur to engage more in farming to ensure food security for the empire. The entire empire became a beehive of farm produce and life became more comfortable until a great pestilence struck.

Rainfall reduced in Zlupejen but there was no rain in the empire on the east, as such there was no food. Queen Laura gave the idea of digging irrigation across the farmlands where they stored water that flowed from the street with which they succeeded in planting more.

All major cities and kingdoms and empires came to secure food from Zlupejen, including the empire to the east.

When Arthur heard that the empire to the east had come to secure food, he ordered that the caravan be rounded-up and thrown into the dungeon. This singular act still showed that he hadn't forgiven them. When Queen Laura heard of the king's action, she intervened and asked that the expedition that would carry out the arrest stop immediately.

Rather than send them to the dungeon, she requested that the closest member of the caravan to the long of the empire to the east is kept back while others be released and the presence of the King of the empire to the east show up.

When the news of the arrest of his most loyal royal guard had been taken, he agreed to visit King Arthur.

On the said day, he took gold, silver and other precious stones as gift to King Arthur. When he arrived, there had been arranged a feast by Queen Laura, the entire entourage were hosted to a King's banquet.

When Arthur arrived in the banquet hall. He registered his displeasure on how his emissaries were killed.

King Molokwu of the eastern empire refuted the claim, saying that his empire had no hand in the death of the king's emissaries.

All heart-turned issues were settled there and peaceful coexistence commenced between both kingdoms.

This story clearly shows that a King really needs a smart and kind Queen. Let us never make any decision out of anger.

This shows how smart Laura was and she was able to get the root of the matter and also helped the king. If king Arthur had taken drastic steps then, it would have been another thing today.

When a man finds a good woman as wife, he has fulfillment. If otherwise, it's war. Laura was a blessing to King Arthur.
