This is the final episode of this story. If you have not been following, here is the Part 1 and Part 2.

The intense murmuring of the coronation of Amuche, the son of King Ekeocha sneaked into the nooks and crannies of the entire Umudum. Even the deaf hear of it. But since no one was powerful enough to confront the wicked King, he had his way.

Udo has been very busy, learning how to fight at least to defend himself. Since Ndu wasn't aware of his training, it was kind of weird when he learned that Udo now learns martial arts.

Everyone in Umudum except some of the chiefs are tired of King Ekeocha. They started making consultations about who would become the next king.

The first move they made was to reach the dibia who lives at the great Orji river. He told them:

There is a fierce war going on in the spirit over the throne. The blood of Akaeze is asking for vengeance. His heir is lurking around Umudum. He will come for the throne in due time.

The chiefs were marvelled at this pronouncement. They never know of any surviving heir of the late king. Who was the dibia referring to as Akaeze's heir? They need to find out the real identity of the heir.

While at Okongwu, Ndu received the chief and his entourage from Umudum, who came to find out about the surviving heir of the late king. This is a secret mission, as such, Ndu is meant to keep it a secret.

When Udo returned from his training ground, he met the entourage from Umudum. It was then that he became aware that he is royalty.

What was meant to be a secret later spread to all parts of Okongwu and its environs.

King Ekeocha heard of the mission of some of the stakeholders in the politics of Umudum and he became restless and went to consult with the sorcerer who told him to abdicate the throne or be humiliated.

The stubborn King was so full of himself that he decided to stay up and proud himself all over the land.

One early morning, before Ndu and Udo decided to come back to Umudum, their place of citizenship, King Ekeocha had called an emergency chief-in-council meeting to locate the royalty of the entire Umudum kingdom to his family.

He did this by surrounding the entire palace with sophisticated guards who had heavy weapons and wielded great amour to secure the palace.

As King Ekeocha mentioned his.mission to the people, there was rancour in the palace. Everyone shouted in disagreement to the King's mission.

Umudum has several ruling houses and the oracle knows which is ripe to take over the rulership of the kingdom.

The chief hunter said at the top of his voice. This time, he did it without fear of what would happen to him. When the chief farmer saw the manner in which the chief hunter had spoken, he summoned courage to air his voice.

The black mothers,

Who are responsible for what befalls man,

Only them can scare a man who walks,

Never looking back in danger,

Or fear of what awaits him,

Dear King let it be known,

That the fear of what will kill,

Is not as great as what will kill,

Hence this throne of our fathers,

Will be for all bis wards,

Not for Ekeocha alone.

Fear gripped King Ekeocha because the chief hunter had spoken like a man from the land of the spirits.  All the chiefs rose and left the palace in anger as the meeting was postponed till another day.

On the next day, Ndu and Ugo in company of the secret entourage from Umudum left Okongwu so that this scores should be settled as soon as possible.

All the entries to the town have been checked with security but they found their way to the palace when the king was attempting to use force to ask the chiefs to sign a treaty of abandoning the throne for Ekeocha. Then, Ndu entered the palace and announced:

This is Udo, the son of late King Akaeze. I am here to take what rightfully belongs to me.

Everywhere went dead silent.

Ekeocha took his knife from his bosom to stab Ugo, but Ndu was smart, Ekeocha dropped dead in his pool of blood.

Ugo was crowned king immediately as the whole lineage of Ekeocha was led outside the city and banished.

In prostration, everyone greeted :

His Royal Majesty.

What a story, I know King Ekeocha would die at last, coz no matter how lies live the truth would prevail one day, which the wicked one will face the repercussion of what he has done. but he would have been better if he had suffered and go through pain for years before kicking the bucket cuz he has done more than worst.
