Have you ever been in a situation where you want to move, speak, run, laugh, cry and hop at the same time? That was the feeling Wordsworth had on a Monday like this when he saw a girl that sent sparkle throughout his body. He became restless almost immediately. It wasn't his first time seeing her, today was just different.
Yvonne smelt different today. She wore a smooth perfume as she walked into the office but the smell of a woman who was in the heat was still perceived. That's wasn't the case though. Without makeup, Yvonne looked stunning, and surprisingly, she was in a good mood. Like the gentleman, Wordsworth asked greeted Yvonne, something he scarcely does.
Good morning, Yvonne.
Hi, Wordsworth.
As surprised as she was, she began to ask herself why on mother earth would Wordsworth greet her this morning. He always keeps to himself and speaks to her officially. Something must be in the fore, she thought.
You smell nice today. Or is that I haven't taken note of that perfume? Yvonne was just there trying to figure out what he was up to.
Thank you. That's the perfume I had always worn. Maybe you never took note of the perfume and me.
She had always admired him though but felt she was playing hard to get since he seldom spoke to any babe in the office. So, she dropped the idea of getting any closer. Maybe she would use the opportunity of his good mood today to lure him.
As work continued, Wordsworth requested that Yvonne submits a file for scrutiny to his table before he would finally send it to the manager for final perusal. Without any ado, Yvonne prepared the file because she wanted to get close to him and see his eyes closer than ever. As she put the file together, Wordsworth came over and told her to drop the file while he goes for lunch. Spontaneously, Yvonne said:
I am done with the file baby. I am dropping it on your table ASAP.
She first thought of asking to join Wordsworth for lunch but rescinded. After about ten minutes when the gentleman had gone to the staff restaurant, Yvonne appeared. All the tables in the restaurant had been occupied except that Wordsworth was sitting all alone. All things seemed to be walking nicely for her today.
As Yvonne carried her tray of food, advancing towards Wordsworth, she met a broad smile from the young handsome man meaning she is welcomed to the table. Yvonne just ate her food, with the pretense of observing table manners. She was stylishly spying at his countenance and saw that he was in a really good mood. In a short while, she had finished her plate of jollof rice. Then Wordsworth engaged her.
Yvonne, am still surprised that I haven't noticed you all this while.
Wow. What is different about me today? I have always been like this. You have always kept to yourself. Maybe unfriendly, as I supposed.
No. I am just trying to be watchful of the characters in our office. I found you amazing though.
Alright, then. Can I host you to a dinner in my home? Yvonne asked.
Wordsworth had since morning wanted to be with her in a place where he could tell her all his mind, now she just gave him a opened cheque.
Sure. 7:00 pm will be fine.
Wordsworth said as he rose to take a leave. She followed helm like a fly would follow faeces.
After the day's work, Yvonne wasted no time in leaving the office to begin to prepared for the dinner. She went to the market to buy all condiments needed to prepare vegetable sauce and yam. While she was done preparing the meal, she went to take a cold bath when the door bell rang.......
To be continued......
Next please, can't wait what will be the next chapter or probably know the ending on this.
