Today is about the longest day so far in the year. I have been on a routine check and proofreading scores of cumulative computation of students' academic results. It's supposed a day activity but it's taken the whole day that I found it difficult to connect to any other activity. The day is almost ending now and am not yet done with the endorsement and commenting on over four hundred results. This isn't the first time I am doing this, this one only just appeared to be different.
The outcome of each student's performance is easily identified through their personality. As a teacher, one may not meet too many surprises in the course of computing academic results. You may doubt that assertion. Truth is that there will always be surprises. Only when you are concerned about the progress of your learners. This amounts to the diffusion of elements that takes the place. of teachers but are not indeed qualified to be called teachers.
Social Stratification is an idea that has helped many people, especially learners to find a reason the break the shackles of redundancy in a family line. social stratification is a society-wide system that makes inequalities prevalent. In societies, people are categorized into groups and sections according to how they fare in the acquisition of social property or status. With time, we may scale above the borders we were born into. When this occurs, we are said to have improved on the social stratification we were born into.
Relating this to the scores of students in their examination, particular students have done very well elsewhere but due to one factor or the other, they have fallen below expectation in recent time. This amounts to what transpires in the image above, which is called the stratification ladder.
If a learner must break through the ordinary level of peasants or low-income earners, he or she must learn to be first successful in academics. In social stratification, educational, vocational, or financial advancement is a huge criterion to fall off or into the ladders.
A typical way to explain all this is that when am father who had only secondary education, which may be caused by many underlying factors tries all his best that his ward bags a university degree, it would be said that their is an upwards climb in the social ladder in that family.
On the other hand, a father who has a university degree but whose ward is not able to get a university degree may be through underlying factors, would be said to have a stagnant status in social stratification. In this case, the ladder of social status would be on a lower curve.
It is quite very easy to fall from being an elite to the middle-class portion of the ladder or from the middle class to the lower ebb, poor or low-income earners.
Why Link Education To Social Stratification
Education is a vital tool in breaking the chord of ignorance and poverty. Hence, the social status of an individual from a lowly background can move into through education. That process is called Educational Mobility. This could come in vertical, horizontal, intra-generational, or inter-generational curves.
Due to social interaction, the social status of individuals can change from bad to good and therefore climb further from one level of the social ladder to another.
For students, in whichever level of academic pursuit, self-discovery can make will adjust drastically to the inherited social status from the birthplace.
Many prominent people have broken the chains of low level life by igniting self discovery in their academic pursuits. Typical example of such people is Ben Carson.
Back to my results computation project. I discovered that students progress in the performance scale is affected by choices they make. The friends to choose, the reading habits they imbibe and of course his they manage their time.
In all, there is no permanent champion in life. If you must remain in the highest place on the pyramid, them you must consider the latest trends of doing things.

You are right sir, the friends we make, the choice we make as students go a long way in determining the outcome of one's life in general.
