Daily wildlife photography: the indian pond heron, Ardeola grayii. it was my first time seeing this species. We have a pond heron in Portugal that is pretty similar to this one! Here, she's in a a non breeding plummage; in the breeding season, the colours are much smoother. This one was standing in the middle of a small lake in front of my hostel in Tangalle, Sri Lanka, and she didn't mind posing for photos for all the time I wanted!

Although I almost never go there nowadays, this event will probably make me more active in the coming days on Betfury! Daily wildlife photography: the european robin, Erithacus rubecula. It's been ages since I've seen one, so I was glad to remember it when I found these photos. Robins are very social birds, and it's not uncommon for them to approach people; they're very easy to recognize, with that face and chest in a bright orange. It seems nowaday I only see sparrows and redstarts where I live! Have a great day!

My procrastination level seems to be up the roof. Been on vacations in early September... and I'm still halfway to organizing the photos! Over 1000 photos taken, down to 700 something now, with some of the out of focus and similar photos out; still halfway to go! Feels great to revisit these places thow. Question now... where next? :)

I keep seeing some posts where a comment can't be made because you don't belong to the channel, while there are other posts where you can comment freely. Is it an option by the channel owners? And if it is... why diminish the amount of interaction one post can get? Speaking for myself, I've seen quite a few posts where I would love to comment, but can't, and I have no will of joining a channel whose theme doesn't appeal to me that much. Or is there something I'm missing here?

Daily wildlife photography: the black headed gull, Chroicocephalus ridibundus. In the winter time, instead of the typical dark head, these seagulls can be recognized by the black spot behind the eye. These photos were taken in Lake Como, Italy, but this species is also quite common here in Portugal. Been a while since I've photographed them here thow... maybe time to pay the beach another visit! ;)

Splnterlands has been releasing some sneak peaks of the future collection, Chaos Legion. And the card's art is awesome! These are some of the new cards from the death splinter. Stats aren't known yet... but I'm gessing we'll have a ton of surprises. Early December marks the new chapter of the game!

Daily wildlife photography: the tiger heron, Tigrisoma mexicanum. These big herons have horizontal stripes all over the body, hence their name. This one was hiding among the foliage; but eventually she came out of her hiding place so we managed to get a good look at her. Photos taken in Tortuguero, Costa Rica.

Daily wildlife photography: the common redstart, Phoenicurus phoenicurus. Missed my posting habits on noise yesterday, so starting the morning with my favourite posts. I do see black redstarts a lot more frequently than the "common" redstart, but this was one of the ocasions where he finally appeared. It was a windy day, you can see it from the fluffed neck feathers on the first photo. Definitely one of my favourite passerines!

Daily wildlife photography: the spotless starling, Sturnus unicolor. This is probably the only species that can be confused with the common blackbird; but this one has a smaller beak, pinkish legs, and the plummage is a beautiful metallic dark. Found this one showing off his singing skills perched in a wire somewhere in southern Alentejo; although this one was isolated, they are normally seen in groups, some of them very large!

Splinterland's guild wars are fun, but battling in brawls with gladiators takes things to a whole new level. All of them have the bloodlust ability, which means they gain a point to all atributes when they kill an opponent; even a common card can become a killing beast in a couple of rounds! And I just added 2 more rare ones to my collection. ;)

One of the most anticipated times in Splinterlands universe? Season rewards! Made to Champion III on the very last day, and that equals 80 chests: 80 possibilities of awesome stuff inside. The end result? Well, let me put it like this: when you think season rewards can't be crappier... they can. :) Still fun to open these many chests. Off to the next season, see you on the battlefield!

My wildlife photography: the green basilisk, Basiliscus plumifrons. Also called plumed basilisk, these little lizards are know for their ability to run on water, in short bursts of speed when they're running away from something. It's one of my favourite lizards; males and females can be easily distinguished, since males have crests in the body and tail too, and a larger head crest than females. This was a male, relaxing in the foliage in Tortuguero, Costa Rica.

My wildlife photography: the black redstart, Phoenicurus ochruros. It's amazing how common has this bird become in the urban area where I live: I think I see them more frequently than sparrows nowadays! These photos were taken in a beach thow, in southwestern Portugal. Impossible to mistake with any other species, especially the males: dark black plummage, with a red tail. They have a small white spot on the wings, but they're not visible in this photo.

Getting to Champion III on the last day of Splinterlands season also has its down side: you fall to Diamond III, you start to play and get some wins... and after a couple of days all the OP players that fell to Diamond league start to play too. Result? Monumental ass-whoopings!!! Hard to counter fully maxed decks AND skilled players! :)

Although in these last days crypto prices seem somehow a rollercoaster, CRO has been going absolutely crazy, probably related to the launch of their mainnet, last week. I'm sooo glad I started using their card last year, probably one of my best crypto investments! Given the fact that even the free card provides cashback, you can basically get CRO for free, for doing what you normally do! Are you a crypto.com user too? :)

My wildlife photography: the Madeira firecrest, Regulus madeirensis. These very smal birds only exist in the Madeira island, and their common name in the island is a cute one: Bis-bis. In my last visit to Madeira, I was lucky to find not only the adult ones, but also a couple of juveniles perched and fluffed, while waiting eagerly for the next meal!

My wildlife photography: the iberian grey shrike, Lanius meridionalis. Shrikes are some of my favourite passerine birds, and this particular species can only be found in the Iberian peninsule. Found this one chirping on top of a branch; a perfect spot to be photographed. He then flew to the barb wire, and decided to pose again. Will go to this area of the country soon, maybe I'll be lucky again and add some more shrike photos to the portfolio.

Finally got my first mystery box! Crypto.com launched daily missions on their app recently, where you get awarded diamonds for doing daily tasks, that you can later change for boxes. I got a silver box with some CRO inside. Very little amount but, little by little... it keeps piling up. And they come for free!

My wildlife photography: the Iberian green frog, Pelophylax perezi. This is the most common frog in Portugal, and although they're frequently green as the name implies, there's a big variety of colorations, both darker and ligher. They do have a vertebral green or yellow stripe, that aids in the identification. They can normally be found in wet areas, and they are normally noisy! But also fast to escape underwater, if you get too close.

If there was any doubt about how brutal bloodlust ability in Splinterlands guild wars is... just check how Quora Towershed, an epic card from the earth splinter, gets to the end of the battle after killing a few monsters: 5 magic attack + 6 melee attack, 6 speed and 13 health!!! That's 11 hit points in one single round: nearly unstoppable! Definitely this is one of the best games I've ever played!

Time flew by this week; barely got time for the basic day to day tasks, let alone post! But got one of my year objectives in blockchain gaming: made it to millionaire status on Rising Star game! This means I got a special card, and I can do a special mission daily awarding 10000 Starbits, the in-game currency. And exactly when Hive price seems to want to skyrocket, what a great timing. My wildlife photography: the common house martin, Delichon urbicum. From all the swallows existing in Portugal, this is probably the most abundant. And they're so easy to observe, since they build some of their nests in our streets! That provides us beautiful scenes like this just at our doorsteps: juveniles peaking from the nests, waiting eagerly while the adults bring the food. Birdwatching in urban areas can be quite rewarding as well! ;)

So this is what I get when I try to access Binance on my computer. And if I read correctly, the "infection" of URL: Blacklist just means the website has been blacklisted by search engines. Given the fack that I'm sure I'm typing the correct address.... either the Binance website was hacked (which doesn't seem that likely) or are we having some strange censorship? OR I'm just paranoid? :)

My wildlife photography: the tufted duck, Aythya fuligula. They are one of my favourite ducks, probably due to that golden eye. Males are unmistakable: all black with white flanks, together with a little crest; and that beautiful eyes! Females are more discrete, as it is usual in birds. In the second photo, there's one, escorted by her male bodygards while swimming in a lake in Iceland.

It took a ton of weeks, but finally, in these Splinterlands season rewards... my first Djinn Oshannus! It's the best legendary of the three legendary cards still on print l for me, by far; and finaaaaaally one dropped! With the new cards set to be released in just one week, it was a perfect timing. For all the players out there, hope you had a ton of luck on those season rewards!

My wildlife photography: the changeable hawk-eagle, Nisaetus cirrhatus. The "changeable" in the name relates to the different colour patterns this eagle can have. While visiting Sri Lanka, had the opportunity to observe from closer than I would have thought possible two different colour morphs, one darker and one lighter. Whatever colour they have... they are simply stunning!
