Daily wildlife photography: the black headed gull, Chroicocephalus ridibundus. In the winter time, instead of the typical dark head, these seagulls can be recognized by the black spot behind the eye. These photos were taken in Lake Como, Italy, but this species is also quite common here in Portugal. Been a while since I've photographed them here thow... maybe time to pay the beach another visit! ;)
