Using the OASIS Live Telegram Bot To Evaluate NFT Collections
The NFT market of smartBCH is booming and the main marketplace OASIS is experiencing a surge in volumes and new listings.
Probably most of the smartBCH collectors have already figured out how to properly use the OASIS telegram bot.
The telegram bot released by OASIS presents the latest trades (listing, sales, and bids) for most of OASIS collections. It is a valuable tool, but users can get lost and not utilize or understand the information it presents.
The bot does not cover NFT sales and bids outside of OASIS. For LawPunks, BlockNG offers a similar telegram service since the beginning of the LawPunks collection.
Using the OASIS telegram bot
The purpose of this bot is to notify smartBCH collectors in real-time on NFT bids and sales on the OASIS marketplace.
Since I don't have programming knowledge to automate my progress I take some time and examine the bot results using the telegram search feature with relevant words.
Search for recently "sold" NFTs at OASIS
Ctrl+F opens the search menu for the channel we have selected.
One approach is to search with the word "sold". That will bring us all the NFTs sold in OASIS in chronological order:
The results will give us a general impression of trading volumes.
Search for sold NFTs from a particular collection
Searching for a particular collection will help us understand the volumes better, although always keep in mind that lately many collections offer a native marketplace on their official website (like LawPunks and Apes).
For LawPunks it is best to follow the BlockNG bot together with the one from OASIS since this collection is mostly traded on the LawPunks website.
We can also search with the number of the NFT, or for the BCH it was sold.
Although, when searching using numbers the telegram search engine will not bring decimals when the number the NFT was sold is less than 1.
So, when for example an NFT was sold for 0.31BCH and we search using the number 3 or 0.3, the search engine will fetch other numbers only when the BCH amount is more than one. Well, this is how I found telegram to be working. It will also fetch all results from NFT IDs (#).
Searching with a number is not useful unless the data is dragged into a spreadsheet automatically.
In Conclusion
A Python programmer can write a script that will fetch all data from the bot on a spreadsheet and have better stats on which collections are trending and how volumes and prices behave.
It would be great to find a website presenting data from OASIS that we are missing, like total volumes, top volumes by collection, top sales, and more.
With the use of the OASIS Live Auctions bot, I found some interesting data, like the fact that during weekends we observe a decline in NFT activity. Also, it seems that OASIS volumes are growing rapidly, and feels there is a lot of room in this market for new collections.
It has become a valuable tool to help collectors decide upon investing in a collection or not. Using these bots correctly can increase our chances to successfully recognize NFT collections that will certainly fail and those that have enough potential.
A successful collection, depends on multiple factors, though. First of all a team (or a dev) working to fulfill the roadmap and its commitments. The smartBCH community will embrace honest projects and artists.
