The Bitcoin.com Wallet Will Soon Integrate The Bitcoin Cash Gifts Service
The redeemable QR codes service Bitcoin Cash Gifts will be discontinued as it stands todasy but move to the bitcoin.com wallet soon.
Bitcoin Cash Gifts is a feature of the bitcoin.com website presenting a useful tool to create QR codes loaded with Bitcoin Cash.
With Bitcoin Cash Gifts, we share redeemable QR codes as anyone with a mobile wallet can scan and receive the BCH it contains in a mobile cryptocurrency wallet.
The service provides a scannable QR code in pdf format that we can either email, message, or even print on paper and pass to our friends or leave as a tip to a waiter while also explaining Bitcoin Cash and how it works.
Bitcoin.com Gifts Totals
In total, more than 18,000 QR codes have been produced using this service of the bitcoin.com platform.
Bitcoin.com wallet already offers a similar service called "Sharable links", so perhaps this service will be integrated with the one we already use in the wallet.
Bitcoin.com Gifts are awesome and hopefully, the feature will be integrated with the same format in the bitcoin.com wallet, perhaps as a second option to the sharable links the wallet already provides.
Example of how scannable QR code gifts work is below:
The first one that scans the QR code will receive a BCH reward equal to $1 in fiat terms! All you need is a Bitcoin.com wallet or any other wallet that offers the option to scan a QR code to receive it.
We can set an expiration date and a wallet address to automatically receive any unclaimed and expired gifts.
We also notice how many gifts remain unclaimed.
Upon creating the BCH gift, we set an expiration date and perhaps plan to use the QR codes to hand out to friends and relatives during birthdays or other celebration events. Thus many remain unclaimed and still haven't expired. Still, those unclaimed remain valid, so the service migration will not affect gift QR codes already created.
The service also offers redemption of unclaimed gifts before expiry using the "Sweep All" feature.
During the process we create the gift, we receive a seed phrase we can use to access the BCH we transferred or use the seed phase to redeem all the unclaimed gifts we created.
As we are all aware we should always write down our private keys and seed phrases since this is the key to accessing our coins in the blockchain.
In Conclusion
The service was used by many Bitcoin Cash advocates and onboarders and perhaps within the bitcoin.com wallet it can find more popularity and utilized to its maximum.
The low fees of Bitcoin Cash make this service possible. We can create small gifts for Giveaways, or create scannable QR codes and just hand them out to others.
With Bitcoin Cash, we pay for the actual price of a good or service without having to wonder about fees and calculate when to perform transactions.
The robust and reliable network constantly offers transaction fees lower than a single cent of the dollar (less than $0.01).
