I am sure you’ve heard the saying a thousand times “time is a healer” this saying is so far from the truth it’s unreal, now if you sit around believe that if you just leave it to time then you’ll never heal. Why? I hear you saying, well here is why..
Times isn’t what heals us, we heal us! It can always takes time but it’s not time itself we heal from. you have to work hard at it, you have to want it!
The first thing that needs to be done is to assess what it is your healing from, a passing of a loved one, a hurtful childhood these things need to be worked out carefully. Once this is done you can then work on step two..
How we heal, it’s often said we need to hit things head on! Well in this occasion that won’t work, you’ll just end up causing yourself a breakdown with overloaded emotion. What we need to do is almost to side ways on it, stop ignoring it, let it have its time. Now when I say let it have its time I mean we can’t heal from something we haven’t allowed be emotional about; we have emotions for a reason, you if hold back on your emotions you’re just going yo cause a ticking time bomb…
Step three! Cry, shout, scream, go a beat up the punch bag in the gym but always do this in a controlled environment, once you’ve exhausted yourself with emotion this is where the brain kicks in and starts to heal.. this is the way we are build and skipping any step will just be prolonged pain.
Now your brain starts to healing process we need to help it along the way, so we need to take time out to be grateful for all that we have, to list the positives in life! And even when you think there isn’t any positives just think about the fact you woke up today when many won’t, doing good is one of the best ways to help your soul heal.
Think back to something you did for someone, remember how it made you feel.. it’s was kind of nice right! Well here’s some news for you, a nice act can make you feel worthy, happy.. it gives you a warm feeling inside and this can be used to help you heal.
Becoming open with friends and family is a must, this not only avoids misunderstandings and further hurt it also provides you with the best support network ever! Your people are the ones that know you best and know how you work..
now the last part is patience and time, Rome wasn’t build in a day and if you wake up tomorrow and manage just one task on this list you’re already on your way to a better you..
