Dream makes an individual strive for better. Picturing what is your goal to make your dreams come true is important.

The Dream and Goal Setting

Right now, the first step you need to take is to define your dreams and decide which of these dreams, as the After Image band says, “will be planted in the heart” as your goals in life. Choose the dream that you most desire to fulfill. You see in your dreams the possible consequences of your goal in life. They serve as a "preview" of a movie in which you can see the whole show. Through dreams, you look to your future. If so, the person has to dream of concrete and close to reality. The concrete dream is applying your

own attitude, talent, ability, appreciation and desire in life. Your dream is close to reality if you know how to realize it.

If you move the course, you change your mind, in the end nothing ends. Your fall, defeat - "you're such a LOSER" said spoiled brat Angelina.

The "goal" or goal is the goal or goal that you want to achieve or go to in the future. Simply put, this is what you want to happen in your life someday. Therefore, the goal is to give direction to your life. Achieving it will give meaning to your life. So it is important to be responsible in choosing your goal. The consequences must be considered for yourself and your neighbor. If you consider the consequences, your goal will become more meaningful. For example: you want to be a good doctor so you can serve the poor in your community. Since there are no clinics and doctors here, your goal is more meaningful. The path you take should be in harmony with God's plan for you. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I have a good plan for you, and it is not bad. I will give you a future and a hope. ”

Goal Setting Standards

To gain a better understanding of goal setting, consider the following practical standards. In English they are called SMART A: S-specific, M-measurable, A-attainable, R-relevant, T-time-bound and A-action-oriented. In Filipino:

Definitely. Definitely your goal if you are sure this is what you want to happen in your life. Think about how your goal is constantly changing. It will save you a lot of time and resources if your goal is certain. For example, you want to be a doctor so you take a college course that leads to becoming a doctor. But from the beginning of college you thought of becoming an Engineer. You switch courses but when you take the Engineering course you change your mind again and you want to become an Accountant. Aren't you wasting your parents' time and money?

Measurable. First, you measure your ability to take the course you want. Are your marks enough to take this course? Next, is your money enough to take this course? Second, you measure your progress as time progresses toward your goal. For example: you want to be a doctor. Your grades will be higher and you will be able to pass all the assignments here. But you lacked money so you had to work while studying so you can only take a few assignments in a semester. Maybe before you become a full-fledged doctor, your community needs worse or maybe a doctor comes to your community.

Reachable. The goal is realistic, attainable and challenging. For example: you want to be a doctor, it is realistic for you because you can pass all the subjects so it is reachable and challenging for you. But if your poverty is so great that it is impossible for your parents to pay for your education, it is quite unrealistic. But if you are persistent, it can be challenging for you. You have to make a careful decision for it. You need to consider what might be a challenge for you if you continue to take this course.

Appropriate. Is your goal to become a doctor reasonable? If your goal is to meet the needs of your community, it is appropriate. But is it still appropriate if you are the eldest and your parents and siblings expect their lives to be better off if you graduate? Perhaps you need to weigh each side so you can see what is best for you. Perhaps, you need to evaluate your priorities: the first is important to you, the next is the second is important to you.

Provide Adequate Time. Think about how long you will be able to achieve your goal. Pay attention to the length of time you will spend before fulfilling your goal and your purpose for it. The length of time it takes to achieve a goal depends on how much money you spend. The length of time you spend in relation to the fulfillment of your goal or purpose. For example: how long will your people in your barangay wait before you become a full-fledged doctor? Or how

How long will your parents and siblings wait before you can help them? Decisions need to be made wisely.

Appropriate Gestures. The expression of the goal must be in the present tense. It should also be things you can do. Also avoid expressing it in a negative way or do not set a goal to hurt others, retaliate against others or outdo others. For example: you want to be a doctor because it is higher than your classmate's goal. Also, do not aspire to be a doctor in order to get rich and get revenge on classmates who ridicule you. Also, do not aspire to be a doctor so that when the time comes you can brag about it to your classmates. In other words, be positive about your goal so that its consequences will be realized

happiness. Do not forget that God's desire for you is to be a good person and pleasing in His sight.

You probably already understand the meaning of the goal and the criteria for setting it. Now start examining yourself. Ask yourself what you really want to achieve, fulfill and purpose in life.
