Fear is one of the emotions with the most control. It affects your mind and body very strongly.

Fear can produce powerful reaction signals when we are in emergencies, such as if we are trapped in a fire or assaulted .

When you're faced with non-dangerous activities, such as examinations, public speaking, a new career, a date, or even a party, it may also take effect. It's a normal reaction to a danger that can be perceived or actual .

Anxiety is a concept we use for some kinds of anxiety that is generally linked to the possibility of a danger or something going wrong in the future, rather than right now .

For a short time, fear and anxiety will last and then pass, but they can also last a lot longer and you can get stuck with them. They can take over your life in certain circumstances, impacting your ability to eat, sleep, focus, drive, enjoy life, or even leave the house or go to work or school. This can hold you back from doing things that you want or need to do and your health is also affected.

Some individuals are overcome by anxiety and want to escape conditions that could make them nervous or frightened. Breaking this loop can be tough, but there are plenty of ways to do it. You will grow to feel less afraid and to deal with anxiety so that it does not stop you from living.

What makes you afraid?

A lot of stuff makes us feel scared. Being afraid of certain things will keep you safe, like fires. Fearing failure will make you try to do better enough that you will not struggle, but if the feeling is too intense, it can also stop you doing well.

What you're afraid of and how you behave will differ per person when you're afraid of something. Only understanding what makes you scared and why can be the first step to overcoming fear issues.

What makes you anxious?

Since anxiety is a kind of fear, the stuff we've mentioned above about fear is also valid for anxiety.

The word 'anxiety appears to be used to describe worry, or when fear is nagging over time and continues. It is used when in the future the anxiety is for something other than what is going on right now.

Anxiety is a word that health practitioners frequently use as they describe intense anxiety. When you're scared and nervous, the ways that you feel are really similar, since the basic feeling is the same.

What do fear and anxiety feel like?

Your mind and body work very quickly when you feel scared or severely anxious. These are some of the items that might occur:

  • Your heart beats very quickly. Perhaps it feels irregular

  • You breathe really easily.

  • Your muscles are feeling tired,

  • You're sweating a lot

  • Churning your stomach or feeling loose in your intestines

  • It is impossible for you to focus on something else.

  • You're getting dizzy

  • Frozen to the place

  • You cannot eat

  • You've got both hot and cold sweats,

  • You're going to have a dry mouth

  • You have muscles that are really tense,

These things happen because your body prepares you for an emergency, feeling fear, so it makes your blood flow to the muscles, raises blood sugar, and gives you the mental capacity to concentrate on the thing your body perceives as a danger .

You may have some of the above symptoms in the longer term, with anxiety, as well as a more nagging sense of fear, and you may get irritable, have difficulty sleeping, experience headaches, or have trouble getting on with work and preparing for the future; you may have sexual issues, and may lose self-confidence.
