The Abused
We live in fear that history will repeat itself. The past haunts us constantly. It reminds us to watch where we step. What we do, and what we say. It reminds us not to breathe too loudly or too deeply. We fear being noticed. To be noticed is a death sentence. As long as no one sees us or hears us, Nobody will hurt us. We can't be hit, if no one knows we're there.

No! We do not live in fear but with a warning. A clear warning to watch out, Take care, Stay safe. It reached and reminds us. 💕
In all honesty, I very much used to live in fear. It took me years after moving out realize that everyone was not going to do that to me. There are times when I still have my guard up though that isn't the same as fear.
Fear came back as I lived and lived alone with my child. Fear for my mother. It didn't take that long although nightmares came... I told myself "this is my house I am in charge here and I can leave everyone outside. No need to open the door." It helped so did several changes of phone number and breaking contact with everyone who abuses, manipulates and treats me bad. 🍀💕
That's exactly what I've done. As much as I can. Some people are unavoidable to an extent but even then I limit contact as much as possible.
Some times no matter how much one tries, trouble simply has a way of finding you. When that happens we have no other choice but to face our fears .
Wise words.
Abusing should not be normalized specially when it will ruin a person.
You're right. There is nothing normal about abuse. It's destructive and at times only breeds more abuse. Though having gone through it, I can say that suffering it does not make it okay to do it to someone else. With my own daughter I had to go through an evaluation to be sure I was 'Mentally competent'. They said as a former victim I was more likely to do it to my own child. Thankfully I chose a different path. Rather than inflict it on an innocent child, I try to make sure she never feels the fear and loneliness that I did.
We should not let younger generations experience the abusing and painful experiences that happened to us specially to our children (this is I'll have one).
