I've been keeping an eye on deals again lately. Anything to save a bit of money. Flashfood hasn't had much of interest over the last week but Checkout 51 did reload deals as they do every Thursday and I took full advantage.
They had a $1.00 cashback deal on Astro yogurt again and since we all like yogurt, I did pick more up. Luckily it was also on sale at Food Basics for $1.99 so after cashback a 650g container of yogurt only cost me 99 cents. While I do prefer Greek yogurt, I am not going to turn away from a good deal. I also picked up a few more salad kits for $1.00 cashback as well. I also picked up Coffee mate Bliss vanilla since there was $1.00 cashback on that. I got about $5.00 cashback total since some deals do allow you to claim multiple.
I was also able to use Caddle which is strictly Canadian though that could have changed now but I'm not sure. Caddle allows me to take short surveys that are normally only worth 5 or 10 cents everyday. They also have deals for products you can buy for cashback but so far that hasn't been much use to me since the things listed wouldn't get used here. I did however get about 40 or 50 cents from scanning receipts for stores I had to go to.
I don't like going to multiple stores especially now but there are times I can't avoid it. If I have no choice, I may as well make the best of it.
I got bagels on sale 2 for $3.00 and I'm going to use ground pork to make homemade sausage patties and make some breakfast sandwiches to freeze so my husband has them for work lunches on days when we don't have leftovers.
I'm a bit disconnected today since I didn't get to bed until around 2am. I stayed up late to make a cheesecake for my husbands birthday today. I haven't made a full sized cheese cake in years so I was a little apprehensive. Sadly it did crack which the water bath was supposed to prevent but obviously didn't. Of course, our oven is finicky so that likely didn't help matters. The good news, it's still edible. I just wanted to get away from traditional cake. Plus, I can't decorate to save my life. I've tried but I've never been able to do much.
For his birthday dinner I am making oven baked ribs with a homemade bbq sauce with parmesan mashed potatoes and vegetables on the side.
On another note, I also got the wall tapestry I ordered for the bedroom and hung it up on the wall behind the bed. I took a chance on it since you never really know what you're getting when you order online but I love it and so does my husband so it's a win win.
Right now it's only 11am and I'm already tired. I've already done my workout but I still have to do dishes and prepare the bbq sauce for the ribs later. I also need to eat since I haven't yet.
I also have to fight to get my daughter to clean her room since she has the day off school. For someone who keeps saying she wants to give her dad a birthday gift, she won't do the one thing he has asked of her, naturally.
Looks like it's going to be a busy day for me even without having to play the role of teacher today.
The wall tapestry is the one on the photo? It looks awesome.
I try to visit only one shop a week at most two but that tires me out. So one-week shop A and next week shop B. Cashback we don't have here which is a pity and the prices increased again. I try to buy what's on sale but no longer buy extra. I have one at most two meals a day. The children can eat a bit extra if they like.
A cheesecake is always a great treat no matter what it looks like. You cannot swallow it in one piece anyway. Congrats to your husband 🍀💕
