March came with spring vibes and AI 4 Charity 2.0! The second Humble Tractors Charity event focused on the Turkey & Syria Relief Fund. The remaining 4 NFTs from this collection were auctioned and the sale volume was sent to The Giving Block to help those affected by the 7.8 earthquake that struck southern and central Turkey.

The original AI 4 Charity campaign raised $230, which were shared to Water Wells for Africa and Save the Children. It was a bit of a hustle as I had to swap the wETH into USDC and then bridge it to Ethereum Mainnet to complete the donation. I used Across Protocol to move the USDC from Polygon to Layer-1, as the bridge is the  fastest, cheaper and most secure way to move assets between blockchains.

Water Wells for Africa (WWFA) brings water to people in remote, hard-to-reach places in Africa since 1996.  WWFA goes in villages where many other organizations do not go. The 110 USDC donation will contribute to drilling a hole and installing a pump, but also to provide the village with hygiene and sanitation training.

Save the Children wants to give all children the best chance for the future they deserve – a healthy start in life, to be protected from harm and the opportunity to learn. Every day, in times of crisis, they do whatever it takes to reach the most vulnerable children and their families.

Save the Children has been the world’s leading charity for children for more than 100 years, and the first global NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) to accept a bitcoin donations. The crypto adoption happened in 2013, in response to Typhoon Haiyan that devastated the Philippines.

AI 4 Charity used Artificial Intelligence to mint 10 tractors. The limited edition NFTs achieved their purpose as the collection is now sold-out, with 8 unique owners and 0.2891 ETH total volume. Thank you to everyone that joined my campaign!

I got the payments in USDC and ETH, and the first problem I faced was the USDC depeg. The value was far lower than what it was supposed to be and I had to wait. The stablecoin turned stable again, but then Ethereum started to drop. The ETH and USDC donations had to be from mainnet so I had to bridge. You know the main issue with mainnet? gwei is still a bitch and the sending fees were cutting an important slice of the donation.

ETH was dropping hard and the fees were getting higher! The quick solution was to send a crypto with lower fees as soon as possible... and the obvious choice was Bitcoin Cash.

I rounded up the donation to 1 BCH, for good times sake, and pressed the sent button. Few minutes later I received the thank you email Turkey & Syria Relief Fund, as the transfer of $125 in $BCH was completed!
