Paris ... the city of love, romance, baguettes, macaroons and off course ...the Eiffel Tower.

Back in 2014, the Paris city break focused mainly on the main landmarks, heritage and a proposal at the footsteps of the Eiffel Tower. I was lucky enough to see the Notre-Dame Cathedral before the fire destroyed the roof, and to use the old lift and enjoy the amazing views from the top of Eiffel Tower.

Two years later another Paris city break was booked, this time for a glamour holiday, with shopping, entertainment and fun.

The first day included long walks on Champs-Elysees, shopping, coffee breaks and wondering how expensive thing can be in shops such as Louise Vuitton. Speaking about macaroons, you can buy good ones even from McDonalds. Standing at the western end of Champ-Elysees Boulevard, the Arc de Triomphe is one of the most iconic landmarks.

The Moulin Rouge, is the birthplace of modern can-can dance, and is still offering musical dance entertainment. The club's decor is the same as in 1889, when the cabaret house was founded. Making an online booking can save time and hustle, so make sure you consider this option instead of just turning up their hoping to buy tickets to the next show. The Moulin Rouge is in walking distance from Monmatre, and the Sacre-Couer Basilica.

Sacre-Couer Basilica is another popular landmark and the second most visited monument in Paris, after the Eiffel Tower. The basilica stands at the summit of the Monmatre, the highest point in the city. The funicular at Montmartre takes you from the bottom of the hill up to the Sacré Cœur in in 90 seconds, and the ticket is free if you have a Day Travel Card. Make sure you admire the city from the summit and buy some cheap souvenirs from the street vendors, however, keep your wallet and phone safe, to avoid being targeted by pickpockets.

Even if we've been already on the top of the Eiffel Tower, the experience is totally different at night.

The security checks where upgraded and enhanced due to terrorist related activities and the old lift was replaced with a modern one which doesn't feel like collapsing any second. You will be 276 meters above the crowded boulevards, and all landmarks will now spark and shine. Montmartre, l'Arc de Triumph, Les Champs de Mars, the Seine, Notre Dame, Sacre-Coeur will shine bright and infuse your mind with the Paris glamour.

Once you reach the viewing platform, relax and enjoy a glass (actually a plastic cup) of champagne from the bar.
