Friday Fun, Fast Food and Fighting For Fitness!

This week a lot happened, from Bitcoin surging at $13,000 to PayPal adding cryptocurrencies. But between a busy life and the day to day concerns, do we have time to stop for a minute and see how much attention we allocate to our well-being?

Friday fun and fighting for fitness should't limit to just Friday. The human well-being is linked to what we eat, how we eat and to our happiness and general mood.

I love a good alliteration mainly because it can give quality and power to a text, a story or an idea. If you are a Marvel or DC Comics connoisseur, you're already familiar with Peter Parker, J Jonah Jamesson, Matthew Murdoock, Bruce Banner, Pepper Potts and the gang. However ... the best alliteration ever was in "V from Vendetta"

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

I am quoting this movie because  the motto teach us to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. Why are we failing to keep our weight in control? Why our body gets tired quickly? Why we prefer unhealthy options? We can always blame this guy for everything wrong in this world or accept that commodity and sedentary lifestyle are the root of all evil.

Sedentary lifestyle has become a significant public health issue, being linked to a range of chronic health conditions, obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and early death, also affecting mental well-being. Obesity is generally caused by eating too much and moving too little, and if you consume high amounts of energy, particularly fat and sugars, and not burn off the energy through exercise and physical activity, much of the surplus energy will be stored by the body as fat.

Obesity does not happen overnight. It develops gradually over time, as a result of poor diet and lifestyle choices, such as eating large amounts of processed food, drinking too much alcohol or eating larger portions. Unhealthy eating habits tend to run in families. You may learn bad eating habits from your parents when you're young and continue them into adulthood.

Heavily processed foods are often little more than refined ingredients mixed with additives. These products are designed to be cheap, last long on the shelf and taste so incredibly good that they are hard to resist. By making foods as tasty as possible, food manufacturers are trying to increase sales.

The solution to avoid a sedentary lifestyle and obesity is doing more exercise because physical activity has positively impact other risk factors such as stress levels, obesity, blood pressure, triglycerides, cholesterol levels, and diabetes. The human being is designed to be active, not to sit behind a desk or on a couch all day.

Avoid processed food, fast foods and avoid aggressive marketers. Lower your sugar and caffeine intake, while you replace fizzy drinks with water. Keep hydrated and eat more fruits and vegetables. Get active, walk more, and enjoy the nature.

I attached a lovely story made by my 5-year old, where the superheroes and villains are vegetables, with the use of alliteration. The Amazing Asparagus is fighting the Biting Beetroot in a legendary duel.

Oh my! She can draw and tell a story very like my Tia! That was sweet and adorable! And why when I'm trying to read that alliteration "V" it sounds like a rap! With my hand trying to do the beat. Hahaha
