I have a bad habit of relating Splinterlands with World of Warcraft, but only because I played WoW for over 10 years. Thrall was the definition of the good shaman, using the elements to protect his people, and even if Gul'dan is known as a warlock - he was a shaman that turned evil and started harnessing demonic powers and abuse the elements.
The Goblin Shaman looks much like Gul'dan and he looks thirsty for power. Being part of the Fire Splinter technically makes him evil. This can weaken the opponents ... lowering their Health Points! Wasn't this one of Gul'dan powers? I am telling you that he's not dead ... he is well alive and hiding in Splinterlands! Goblin? Still green skin but this shaman definitely looks like an orc!
The Goblin Shaman is an Alpha/BEta common monster from the Fire Splinter. It has Weaken - reducing the life of enemies, and will gain Slow at level 6. It has 4 Health Points and 2 Speed, gaining one magic damage at level 3.
Battle 1: Fire v Death = Plague
Battle rules and line-up: Normal battle-rules and 29 mana cap offered flexibility. My opponent played a classical Death team, with the Haunted Spirit as the main tank with the Heal ability. It is very interesting that he played the Undead Priest - the Death Splinter version of the Goblin Shaman, therefore both teams are starting with reduced health.
Malric Inferno (Summoner): +1 Melee Attack to friendly melee monsters
Living Lava - Main Tank with Shield
Fineas Rage - Off-Tank with Reach
Ant Miners - Melee with Scavenger
Kobold Miner -Melee with Sneak
Goblin Shaman - Weaken to enemy monsters
Fire Elemental - Ranged with Blast
The enemy had high expectations from the Haunted Spirit but I nuked his tank at the start of Round 2. I lost the Goblin Shaman and the Fire Elemental but now the enemy is wide open and the ants are marching!
My Living Lava fell in the collateral damage and Fineas gave the killing blow to the Peaceful Giant, and now both teams are unprotected to the waves of damage coming towards. At this point the battle is even and the victory could go both ways ... but the Ant Miners made the difference with the enhanced life from scavenging. See the full battle here!
Battle 2: Undead Priest v Goblin Shaman - rematch
Battle rules and line-up: Normal battle-rules and 17 mana cap. I chose a similar team but cheaper. My opponent played the same classical Death team, with the Haunted Spirit as the main tank with the Heal ability and the OP Jester. The Undead Priest v Goblin Shaman deja-vu made both teams are starting with reduced health.
Malric Inferno (Summoner): +1 Melee Attack to friendly melee monsters
Living Lava - Main Tank with Shield
Ant Miners - Melee with Scavenger
Kobold Miner -Melee with Sneak
Goblin Shaman - Weaken to enemy monsters
Furious Chicken - KFT mini-filet
Round 1 was all grinding ... until the Jester killed my chicken! That made me angry and made my Ant Miners boost their health. The Kobold took care of the Undead Priest and my team is now free of Weakness and with one extra health point.
The Haunted Spirit is down... I repeat ... the Haunted Spirit is down! Jokes on you now silly Jester! While the Goblin Shaman was enjoying the carnage... the Living Lava made the clown burn! Game, Set and Match! See the full battle here!
Battle 3: Fire v Earth = Wildfire
Battle rules and line-up: Normal battle-rules and 26 mana cap means that I will use a similar team as the previous battle. This time the opponent went for the Earth Splinter, using Lyanna Natura for one extra health point. The summoner's ability was neutralized by the Goblin Shaman.
Malric Inferno (Summoner): +1 Melee Attack to friendly melee monsters
Living Lava - Main Tank with Shield
Fineas Rage - Off-Tank with Reach
Serpentine Spy - Melee with Opportunity
Fire Beatle - Ranged with Snipe
Goblin Shaman - Weaken to enemy monsters
Furious Chicken - KFC Spicy Wings
The Unicorn Mustang was reduced to ashes and my army of berserkers took most of the monsters in two rounds. With only the ranged monsters left, the enemy is heading towards a big defeat, and I am heading towards a flawless victory. See the full battle here!
