Thursday, 12th of November, 7:00 AM: I am trying to log to Celsius Network to add Binance as the withdrawal wallet for the upcoming Bitcoin Cash fork, planned on the 15th of November. The app takes longer than usual to load the log in interface and I have to look at this image for about 1 minute.
After one minute this screen loads, with a disable log in option and an unsettling message, saying that the platform is updating its DNS servers and the systems will be unavailable during the process, which can take up to a day. I was a bit worried thinking at the worst case scenario.
Thursday, 12th of November, 12:42 PM: Few hours later, this email from Celsius comes in my inbox, with some explanations for the above issue. "Let's start with the great news: all of your funds are safe and all Celsius wallets are secure!" What does this mean? Were they not safe at any point? Was Celsius targeted by hackers? I continue to read the email and more explanations are following. Apparently on the 11th, when some changes and updates to the DNS were being implemented, a vulnerability was discovered and the immediate measure was to lock the system and keep it save from potential threats. I am not buying this, as the message is as shady as the one from Justin Sun few days ago, when an attack targeted Tron Network. Was the vulnerability discovered by Celsius or by "someone else"?
During the "up to 24 hours" system lock, Celsius will work with GoDaddy to update and turn all DNS services online and up to standards. GoDaddy also activated a security lock ... just in case. Therefore the process will take longer than expected but hopefully this will be sorted in the next couple of hours.
Thursday, 12th of November, 11:11 PM: The email said that we will get constant updates so kept my eyes on Twitter to see what is happening. This message from Alex Mashinsky was shared. Guess what Alex ... is not live!
Friday, 13th of November, 00:10 AM: Apparently something is working behind the close doors as my ZEC rewards from PipeFlare & GlobalHive reached my Celsius Wallet. However, the app is still the same, with the "up to 24 hours" message. I believe Alex Mashinsky app may work, cause he made it.
Friday, 13th of November, 7:01 AM: Now that the 24 hours are gone, I was expecting everything to be sorted but the app is showing no sign of improvements. I hope this gets sorted ASAP as I need to send all my Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to Binance, preferably before the fork take place?
I wonder how this will affect the CEL token, and the 3,600% recorded growth in the last 365 days? At the moment is down by 2% but is obviously impossible to trade/sell or do anything with your CEL with the whole network being down. The effect of this non-Covid related lock-down will be seen when Celsius will be up and running. I will keep updating this post with any new information so keep posted.
Friday, 13th of November, 9:30 AM: Celsius app got updated and is working fine. Waiting for a press release and some updates.
