Bufficorns - The ETH Denver official virtual networking game
What hybrid creature will be created if you combine the magic of the unicorn and the strength of the buffalo? You will get an amazing Bufficorn! Listened to the ballad in the morning and can't stop singing it!
Bufficorn is a virtual hybrid experience to gamify networking and connecting builders at ETH Denver. Will require social interaction and team-work as the goal is to breed the most amazing Bufficorns.
The Bufficorns NFT games was created by Witnet, the multichain decentralized oracle that aims to create uniqueness for NFTs and blockchain gaming sector. Witnet runs on Ethereum, Polygon, Harmony, KCC, Celo, Metis, Bobo and Conflux, with Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism and Binance Smart Chain to be added in the near future.
The ETH Denver participants will be divided into 6 ranches, named after the top tier sponsors. The mission of the Breeders will be to create the Bufficorn with the highest stats. The bufficorns will need resources to improve their traits, obtained after scanning the QR code printed on the badges of ETH Denver participants.
The game will run between 17th and 20th of February, and the leaderboards will be updated in real time. Players can explore the game already, and transfer 10% of the pre-season points into the official season. Every participant will receive a participation medal NFT, and more medals will be awarded for various categories (fastest bufficorn, coolest unicorn, etc.)
The fun is not limited to indoor socializing, as the POAP Scavenger Hunt encourages people to explore Denver IRL. QR codes are hidden all over the venues and landmarks in Denver. Scanning them with the POAP app will reward the finder with a POAP NFT to mark the event. Scanning the QR with the bufficorn web app will grant special in-game rewards.
There are a maximum of 10,000 Bufficorn NFTs, minted through the BUIDL Brigade. There are 244 possible traits, mixing randomly to create unique Bufficorns.
The generative art process will randomize traits to mint unique Bufficorns. There are 14 different background, 22 variants of fur and 10 different horns. The freshly minted Bufficorn could get one of the 30 headgears, 14 backs and 46 threads. The face will be generated using one of 22 mouth variants, 42 eyes and 8 earrings, with a chance for the legendary creature to have one of the 21 handheld items or the 15 full sets
What makes ETH Denver special? The fact that is the largest and longest running Ethereum event in the world. The Community Innovation Festival is member owned since the genesis of Spork DAO, in June 2021.
The ethos of the ETH Denver Buidlathon is to unite all the brilliant minds for a sole purpose, empowering the participants to shape a new world where blockchain is part of day to day life.
ETH Denver is a free event! In-Person applications are closed and the waiting list is full, but virtual attendees can still apply. I wish I could say "See you at Denver" but this year I will join it virtually.
