No more Points: What it Means for You and I

As soon as I saw that notification about the points being scrapped soon, I knew what this was about. In fact, when I started hearing about this bot, @TheRandomRewarder that upvotes articles, I knew that read.cash had finally kicked in with a plan to bring the Random Rewarder point system to an end.

But what does this mean for the average, law-abiding, quality-content posting user like you and me?

Nothing.

My take on this is that we'll continue earning, I can't say whether it'll be more or less, but it'll definitely be proportional to the content of our posts and if they meet the criteria of what can be tipped.

So why did the change come?

I personally think the read.cash owner is trying to bring an end to the scourge of spamming once and for all. Why? Becuase we all know how spammers were gaming the system with a lot of trashym posts and earning points because they had a lot of engagements and as such were more likely to be upvoted by power users.

But now, only deserving posts will get upvotes. Others can post all they want, and it would still amount the nothing. Although this might mean that the amount we normally earned will shorten, I believe this will normalize soon and our posts will fetch us more.

So let's keep up with the great content; spammers are about to see that read.cash is no longer profitable to them.

Let's see the progress of this new system. I guess this is just temporary as what you've said to put the spammers to an end. Maybe if no more spammers here, they will bring back the real point system. And i guess they're trying to save the fund so it won't easily run out. As you can see, it's decreasing everyday and the market value as well..

If it is a permanent move, many people will leave read.cash - even authors with good articles. The earning will be way too erratic.

Or is it there move to say goodbye to ReadCash? As bch adoption already succeeds, will they abandon this platform already?

The role of power users will be finished.

Now tipping by other members will also go down, as earning will be erratic. Lot of members will be forced to leave this site. I think over all earning will go down for those who mostly earned through points.

Yes. The earning system will be most unprofitable for some time.

Actually, I've been thinking that since guidelines on what will be tipped was given, there would still be a loop somewhere there. Plus the chances of increased articles would definitely still cause a huge delay in the bot being able to see your activity

Yeah, spammers smart enough to get posts that can game the system will do so, and then they'll teach other dumber spammers to do the same. The fact is that earning here will be erratic, and one might not earn for days.

That's true. I can imagine a flood of copy pasted materials here, i swear. It's one of the best ways to bypass it given the new system, after all

But then the guy says he won't tip copy paste articles or even articles that have their words grossly replaced with synonyms so as to conceal the plagiarism, so I dunno, but if these stringent measures work out, spammers might get tired and leave

wishful thinking

There's something called paraphrasing and changing the voice or POV of the writer. Never tried it with the OC checker but just those makes huge changes to the text, actually

Oh wow. Well, that'd be a bust... if the spammers were smart enough to use that. But I guess some of the really determined ones would figure out eventually.

Feels like it. Specially if they can find good studies in journals, those rarely get read
