Finding Hope 1

What makes us wake up every morning and not decide to give up and lay in bed all day? What makes us stand up, freshen up and get dressed for work? What makes us sit down in a cramped office cubicle, enduring vicious insults from a boss who should see a psychiatrist? What makes us muster up courage to start that business, and brave the odds to put maximum effort at creating a living out of it?

Hope. Hope, they say, springs eternal in the human breast, or something like that. Hope is the only thing that keeps us going, so you can say that someone who takes their own life has lost hope.

That person has given up on life, and does not see the possibility of their situation turning around. That's not you reading this post, because you decided to switch on that phone or laptop and head to read.cash, because you believe you can do something good with your time while here.

I never believed I could earn while doing something I loved: writing. Except of course, if I became a worldwide well-known bestselling author, or a big journalist working for one of the popular news agencies, and none of these things were in my bucket list of future careers.

But hope made me search the internet, and hope made me find read.cash. I am a medical student, and sometimes I find myself overwhelmed by the number of books I have to read, the volume of topics to be covered, and I feel like giving up.

Why do you think I'm still burning the midbight candle? Why do you think I'm still reading that Anatomy textbook when I should have dropped out ages ago?

Ding Ding! You're correct. Hope. I have hopes I'll one day become a splendid doctor. And that's what keeps me going, these hopes that have no guarantee, these hopes that are based on wishes that are a 50/50 possibility.

If you're looking for a reason to go on, envision that dream in your mind. It doesn't need to be a career like mine, or a dream to be on Forbes' list. You can start from something small, like a new Laptop to post your articles on read.cash better, or a new phone so you can play your favorite game.

Once you have something you really want in mind, work towards it. Keep hope alive that you'll one day attain that rank, you'll one day get that phone, and consciously make efforts towards it.

Remember: if you keep hope alive, you're keeping yourself alive as well.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you as one of my most generous readers yet, since I started the Streets of Africa series (I need hope to finish that 😫😂)

You made me feel like I am reading the inside of my heart and thoughts but you wrote it way better than me. Hope do keep me alive. Faith, friendship and blogging. Year's ago, I almost fall into the state of a total giving up situations but I'll keep that memory for myself as a reminder. @wakeupkitty is right, I should subscribe to you and I did. I am glad that I did.

Thanks for subscribing and reading, and even more thanks for the upvote! I think the most important thing to have is hope and a strong belief in something!

Agree but too strong is not so good either. It has to be in moderation. I have once have high hopes but when I fail, it hurt like hell. I found my salvation, though it's like a boat floating on the ocean.

You won't give up you are a tough girl and a fighter, you have some great plans in a few months it goes up. It doesn't matter or mean you cannot have bad and sad days. Allow yourself to have some. It's good for you and pamper yourself.

There are a lot of things that I do not want to look back into. I love creating new memories.

I go on but I do not have a dream and never had one. What drives me isn't hope, it's a lot but not hope. Others force me to get out of bed at times I want to stay in bed, responsibilities, and promises do. Both count heavy to me and that's why I rarely make promises. No matter what I keep them even if I am sicker than a dog and I and my children come short and are neglected which is wrong. I do things out of enthusiasm, interest, to kill time or pain, for all sorts of reasons but not hope. I doubt I ever had it and if "hope" died a very long time ago.

You know what they say about good doctors? They never should get married and have a family. 🍀👍

Wow! That's deep, but I do understand your standpoint. I've had friends who have lost all hope, but keep on living because of sheer will. They refuse to give up because they don't want to, not because they have something to look forward to.

It's good to have something that keeps you going at least. I do wonder why they say that about good doctors. 😂😫

I've submitted my last entry for the contest but it hasn't been approved yet. That was yesterday and I just thought I should bring it to your notice.

If it comes to the improvement I just read one of yours. I am afraid they do not show up earlier. Many are two days old. I will keep that in mind.

Why they say that about doctors... I think if you work with people you need to live for them. Most doctors with us no longer care. You are a number and they work part-time. The elderly did, we're allowed to do more, better educated.

My father started studying for a doctor. He was a good doctor but the worst father and husband one could have and he wasn't the only one. At high school, two other kids in my class their fathers were doctors, specialist but all of them didn't see what was wrong with their child. Same with two foster children I had. Father doctors, mother nurses but they couldn't raise and handle their children.

Perhaps modern doctors will invest more in family life?

I agree. Medical school takes up most of humanity from the doctor. Even at now some of my friends complain that I act like I'm detached from the rest of the world at times.

I hope I'll be able to break the barrier and take good care of my family.
