Chicken Dum Biryani Recipe: It takes a lot of time to make Chicken Dum Biryani but if you are fond of eating non veg then you will like its taste. Once you have made the chicken dum biryani made using spices without changing the color, you will like to make it again and again. You can make it at a party or special occasion.
Ingredients used in Chicken Dum Biryani: In Dum Biryani, basmati rice is prepared in many aromatic spices and it is served with raita and salad.
Ingredients of Chicken Dum Biryani
500g chicken legs
For marinade:
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
For rice:
A pinch of saffron
1/2 cup milk
2 cups water
5 cardamoms
3 cloves
1 dal sugar stick
2 Javitri
2 large cardamoms
5 black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup basmati rice
For finishing:
1 tablespoon ghee
1 tablespoon green coriander, chopped into pieces
2 tablespoons fried onions
3 almonds, chopped into pieces
Procedures to make Chicken Dum Biryani
Mix saffron in a cup of milk and keep aside.
Now to prepare the rice, put the ingredients in the washed rice except the saffron.
Cook it for 10 to 15 minutes.
Heat ghee in a pan and add marinated chicken and cooked rice. Add the saffron milk, fried onion, green coriander and chopped almonds and mix them well.
Let it cook on low flame, cover it with foil for 20 to 30 minutes. (Let it cook till water dries, chicken and rice are cooked completely.)
Now open it and mix the rice well. You can serve it by pouring a little rose water on it.
Grind the chicken in a bowl and add the marinating spices and let it marinate for 4 hours.
