Blood donation is the only way to save a person who is dying in a famine due to an accident. Anyone can require blood at any time. Donating blood voluntarily is called blood donation. Importance of blood donation

The main function of the blood is to carry oxygen and nutrients to the cells. The blood contains a variety of substances that help keep life alive and heal diseases. Donating blood can save numerous lives. Blood may be needed by oneself or relatives at any time. Donating blood benefits not only others but oneself as well. Since the donated blood lasts for 42 days, it is useful for many patients who need blood.

Blood division

Blood is generally divided into eight groups. ‘A, B, AB, O’ positive and ‘A, B, AB, O’ negative. In case of emergency, blood of 'O' negative group can be given to those of other groups. Therefore, the 'O' negative group is called 'Universal Donor'. Since AB is a blood group, blood of other blood groups can be taken. That is why the group 'AB' is called 'Universal Recipient'. Even if this is theoretically, it is better to take blood only by mixing blood groups. Donated blood should not contain bacteria, parasites, drugs or any other harmful substances. Although blood donors are tested before donating blood, in our case most of the tests are not done in detail.
