Hybrid.

I tagged this hybrid because I combined my usual motivational words with poetry. I started the year with poetry again...just where I left off. I hope you enjoy them again today...

Happy new year once again...

When you see the heart monitor, and you see the irregular lines, then you will understand that there is still life in that person but the moment the lines go flat and straight, you can be sure the life in that person is gone. The irregular lines which shows life is for you to know that life is full of ups and downs.

We need to know that with the ups and downs, there is hope for us. We should not throw in the towel or raise the white flag so early. We should never conclude on ourselves when clearly we still have breath in our nostrils.

When you have life trying to turn you down, when you notice you are faced with some difficulties, never forget that it is a clear sign that you are living for something. There is indeed hope for a tree that has been cut down because, at the scent of water, it will sprout again.

We need to encourage ourselves from within. We need to understand that life will try to pull us under but we need to learn how to stay on top of the situation. When a defining moment comes, define the moment or else the moment will define you. As long as you are still breathing, there is hope for you.

Learn to dream. Learn to dare the impossible. Learn to live for something. The moment you wake up and there is still that breath in you, which is another opportunity that life has given you to try again. Don’t give up because there is hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel and it is not from the onrushing train. You have dreams in your heart but you can only birth them when you take that step.

Nobody said it would be easy, but I can guarantee you that it would be worth it. Life is like that; a bit of up and a bit of down. We all experience it but we want more of the good parts than the bad, of course, but we all go through rough patches. There is hope, so learn to dream again.

One More Time:

Oh my darling, can I love you one more time?

We are still young at heart and not out of our prime

With you, love is always new and never a façade

You littered my heart with a garden of love roses

The most beautiful letter I have ever received was from you

You lift my heart as you have lifted my smile

Your smile is enchanting just as your words too

Can I touch you one more time, my darling?

The softness of your body melts my heart

Before now, I couldn’t find anyone like you on earth

Your absence makes my heart draw more to you

Your presence lifts my heart as your kisses do

Can I hold you one more time, my baby?

I want to feel my heart race speedily as run

I want to feel your heartbeat and your tender warmth

I want to absorb your beauty all at once, my love

I want my body to tap into that beautiful aura you display

All I ask is for me to love you one more time

Deception:

Wolves in sheep’s clothing are everywhere

They come bearing gifts but they mean harm

They bless with their mouth but they curse with the heart

They are everywhere; littered upon the face of the earth

They don’t show it with their looks but their actions smell

They preach peace but they are ready for war

They want to be liked and they operate smoothly

They tell you a thing but never believe a word they say

Life has its way of finding people out so they can pay

I am worried for people who try to deceive others in many ways

Beware of them really, and watch out for their signs

Their words are as slick as oil but they cut deep like a knife

They are everywhere my friend, and even in a husband or wife

We live and learn as we grow and go through this life

This Is Life:

You want everything to always come your way

With a loud voice, your downed what others have to say

You take other people’s counsel as a child’s play

Ignoring those words, no doubt you are bound to stray

You want everyone to always sing your name

You confused relevance every time for fame

Everything is to you, nothing but just a game

You can do better because that is obviously lame

You might be cute but that doesn’t make you funny

Ability to speak Latin doesn’t mean you are smart but cunny

Taking a vow doesn’t mean you know how to love either

Pick yourself up, be humble and open-hearted to learn

Value is what we all look for, not someone with a forced opinion

Ask yourself every single time, ”What do I bring to the table?”

You need to give value in as much as you want to receive value
