Part of my many duties as a newbie chemist in this lab is monitoring and verifying environments and the instruments we use. It kind of helps with building up a morning routine. First thing we do when we enter the lab is to turn on everything we'll use for the day. That includes ovens, AC, dehumidifiers and a few other instruments. After that, we can eat breakfast then after breakfast, we have to calibrate the instruments to check if they will still give proper results

It's not really that shitty but it takes up a lot of time
It is always nice to see a glimpse of what goes on in someone's profession. Your description of your morning routine reminds me of the days where we have our laboratories experiments during face to face classes.
