Introduction :
Animals are close to men. The world is a large village where men and animals live together as neighbours. Before civilization men lived in the jungles. Since then the relation between these developed has two groups.
Types of animals :
There are types of animals two domestic ad wild. So kindness to animals applies to both of them. Kindness to animals is a supreme virtue. It is also our moral duty.
Example :
The holy prophet (sm.) was very kind to both types of animals. Services of animals : In farming we get the services of animals. Without the services of the bullocks we could neither till our land nor grow food. Similar services we have from the horse, the buffalo, the goat etc. Of all the animals, the cow is the most useful animal. It gives us milk. We get butter, ghee, sweetmeats from it. Milk is an ideal food and the only food for babies. Oxen and bullock draw the cart of heavy loads. The dog is also a useful animal. It is very faithful and intelligent. It watches its master's house at night. The horse is another useful animal. It renders valuable services to the mankind. Of all its uses, its use in war and for carrying mails in olden days are notable. So, the services rendered by these animals are the most useful to us.
Conclusion:
animals is not only a noble virtue but also a religious duty. To show kindness to animals is to serve the Almighty. The holy Prophet advised us to be kind to them.
