Our Bangladesh is rich in history and heritage. Different rulers have ruled this country. They have built various picturesque prasads, temples, mosques etc. These have now become our sights. Besides, our country is naturally beautiful. The forests of this country have become mountains, seas, forests and places of interest.
Today I will describe the Dighapatiya palace in Natore.
Dighapatiya Rajbari: About 2.40 km from Natore city. Dighapatiya Rajbari is located far away. Raja Dayaram Roy established this palace. But in 1897 there was a terrible earthquake in Natore. The Dighapatiya palace was severely damaged. Later Raja Pramadnath Roy rebuilt the palace by local and foreign architects and artists. This palace is built on about 43 acres of land. All the palaces are covered with high walls. There is a gate to enter the palace. There are two cannons at each end of this gate and there is a lovely big clock on the head. The decoration and furniture inside the main building still amazes people. There is a garden at the back of the building. In 1986, the then Governor Monaim Khan established the Dighapatiya Rajbari as the Dighapatiya Governor's House. After the independence of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman recognized Dighapatiya Rajbari as Uttara Ganabhaban.
