The guard house plant has healing effect

My daughter had a terrible earache few days ago. She suffers from that kind of pain very often,since she was little, and sometimes she had to use antibiotics but I know from my grandmothers' stories that she used a special kind of plant which we usually had as an decoration plant , and it is called the guard plant or in sempervivum tectorum .It helped us a lot. I put only several drops in her ear and the pain disappeared.

My sister also use hot cloth and sock with hot salt but the guard plant has the best effect.

You can find this plant usually in southern Europe, especially in the Balcans , the Alps and the Dinaric Mountains. It is grown mainly as an ornamental plant, and also has a healing effect, and the main use in medicine is for earache,which sometimes can be unbearable. So I tried it many times and it really helps. I have three flowerpots of plant the guard house. It is also very beautiful and unusual flower.

Here are some more interesting things about its usage.The guardhouse contains vegetable mucus, fatty oil, tannin as well as carbohydrates. It is widely used in folk medicine because it is known for its anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties. It is most often used in the form of teas, tinctures, ointments, compresses as well as in the form of juice. Freshly squeezed juice from the leaves of the housekeeper cures burns, corns, warts, herpes and cracked skin. It is effective for inflammation of the ear, throat and inflamed gums.
